Help with system ?
I need some help with installing my system in my car. Well the problem I'm going through is I have a custom made box and I want to put to KICKER COMP C12 12" speakers. Now the only thing is that box doesn't fit because my CD Changer is in the way. I asked someone if I could reduce the box a bit but they told me that the Kickers need that size of space for the box and etc etc etc. Does anyone have Kicker Comp C12 12" speakers and tell me what they did so I can have a clue on what to do ... Please help me. OK THANKS
If anything email me also at acinteg10@aol.com

In what way is the box not fitting? My box will only go in at a certain angle (in order to clear the CD player). Is it an issue of zero clearance or just adjusting the angle of how you put the box in?

how about moving the cd changer to somewhere else? Or maybe take out the cd changer, put in the box, and put the changer back. I have my changer in the center arm rest. Had to do some cutting for that...

My suggestion would be to get rid of the box you are trying to use and build a custom one. Most prefab boxes use MDF which is very cheap and readily available at your local hardware store. It's not the size of the box per se, rather the volume inside the box. You could build it wider and deeper, but shorter and make it fit below your changer. Or, move your changer.

It's pretty easy, All you have to do it:
1. Take off the arm rest.
2. After that, take out all of the plastic things inside, like the cd holder, that plastic piece that holds in the cd holder.
3. After that is done, you'll basically only have the cover of the arm rest left.
4. Take off the top cover of the arm rest, and see how much you need to cut, so the cd changer fits in.
5. Put the cover back on, and you're done.
Well, that's just an over view of it. It's actually more work.
Oh yea, there's also the metal frame in there that holes the cover down. You will have to bend it and cut it, to make the changer fit in there as well....

Hey dustbuster4 no I know why you are able to do that cuz your cd changer is a 97 and mine is a 98 thats why I think I'm going to go with 99CL's idea becuz then that means I wouldnt have to sell my speakers thanks to both.

Grrrrrr!
I just had my hopes dashed!
I just measured my CD changer, and there's no way it will fit in the center console! :'(
I guess I'll just have to change magazines the old fashioned way!
