help cv joint boot replace

help cv joint boot replace

Acura cl 2.2 1997 manual.

plz can anyone tell me when i take out the cv joint how should i replace the new cv joint boot and what do i need before installing the boot with what should i clean the cv joint to remove the dust and what type of grease should i put in the boot?when i remove the axel do i need to drain the gear box oil too?

if you are doing the driver side you dont need to drain the tranny oil, but passengers side you do, cuz a lot of it will leak out.

Usually CV boot kits come with grease to put in. It might be a good idea to clean inside the boot before you repack and seal it up.

its the right side cv joint and i like to know is there any way to saprate the cv joing and put the boot?i am sure there must be dust inside the old boot and cv joint before install the new boot do i need to wash the cv joint with any liquid like regular gas and then put the grease back?
