heated mirror switch not working on '98 CL.. need wiring diagram
Hey all,
Wonder if any of you can help me.
My dad's 98 3.0CL recently has had its mirror heater switch not working properly. What would happen is when you PUSH the button in to TURN ON the heaters, the switch will LIGHT UP, but as soon as you pull your finger away, the buttom will pop-out HALFWAY (which is normal for the system to be ON) but the LIGHT TURNS OFF which also turns off the system. By pressing the button again, the LIGHT TURNS ON when the button is FULLY pressed in, and turns off once the button is released which then pop out all the way to the OFF position (which is normal).
I think there is a lose wire connection perhaps a soldering job can fix. I'm doubting hte switch needs to be replaced (i hope not).
Anyone else get this problem?
Also does anyone know the colour codes for the wiring harness in the door that goes to the heated mirror switch?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My switch isn't working right either
98 2.3CL
Stopped working correctly after getting the transmission for the power window fixed but that was in a time when I didn't need the mirror defrosted. I tried it the other night just showing someone and it didn't work...
Let me know if Contact Cleaner works for you...

Hey Guys, I am having the same problem with my 97 CL. They work, but only when I hold down the button. Have any of you managed to take it apart and fix it?? Can you tell me how you did it?? TIA!!!

i was told that if the ambient temp. isn't cold enought the interior temp sensor would cut-off power to the switch to prevent burning out the heating elements. not sure if this is true but i have noticed my heated mirrors only work in cold temps.
