Headunit installation

I just bought a Aiwa headunit and I just want to know how to install it. I got a 97 cl 2.2. How do I take out the stock one and put the new one in??? Do I take a screw driver to pop of the front thingy??? Pics and instructions will be a big help. THANKS!!!

P.S: I did a search but had no results.

I can help you get it out:

Take a small, flat-head screwdriver and pry the trim ring that surrounds your headunit, clock, hazard switch and storage compartment (under your headunit). Be gentle. Once the trim ring is loose, unplug your clock and hazard switch, and remove the trim ring.

Shine a flashlight under the storage compartment (under your head unit). You should see two screws/bolts. Undo these bolts, and the entire headunit/storage compartment (along with support/mounting bracket) will pull out a little. Unplug the antena and wiring harness, and pull the unit out.

I don't have the schematics for the 2.2 headunit to be able to help you install the AIWA unit.

However, here's a link to the stock Bose system. It may help

Good luck!

Try checking out this site: WWW.installdr.com for step by step with pictures. There are screws in the console and hidden ones underneath the face plate after pulling the center console back.

This is a link to the 2.2 CL page with color pictures and wiring diagrams too. See if this looks like your dash? It was very helpful to me. JC
