Headlights urgent!!!

Today my passengers side headlight burnt out. I would like to replace them with lights that have a bit better output than the stock stanley bulbs, but something that is still streetlegal. I also want something that has long life. Does anyone have knowledge as to what my best option would be? Thanks for your time

I just put in Slyvanias. they make a bulb that's suppose to be brighter then their stock 9006. Have you thought about doing the 9005 conversion? THat's what I did, huge difference.

do a search on 9005 conversion

what exactly do you have to do to make a 9005 conversion? I looked through a lot of the posts and really didnt get a clear answer. Do you just need to modify the shape of the plastic on the bulb that fits into the harness? I also heard that you can melt some stuff doing a 9005 conversion. I havent the slightest knowledge about bulbs or anything. If someone could help clear this up it would be greatly appreciated.

there is a link in one of them to a BMW forum that does it, or find it on the net

It is just a tiny little plastic notch on the socket of the bulb. On a 9006 bulb, the notch is like couple of mm away in a different spot. Using a soldering iron is easier than using a razor in my opinion, but u have to becareful not to have it too hot and burn the plastic. You only want to soften it so u can use a knife to scrape it off easily.

That's bullshit. #1 There is no such thing #2 the wires and connector on the 9005 high beams are the same as the ones on the low beams. If you don't blow the fuse, you aren't going to burn anything. 65w 9005s are just fine.

I had a set of Nokya lights but the output on them sucks donkey balls. Also they suck in the rain and they dont last long. (well at least mine didn't) And no, I didn't touch them on the install.

If your going to stick with 9006's I'd go with Raybrig hyperwhites(80W 5000K). They almost look like HID's and I had them for over a year with no burnouts. They also reflect off the ground better. I actually saw them at an Acura dealership for around $80.

nono you dont even do the 9005 --> 9006 thing....Nokya now sells Stage II headlights for 9006. I bought mine off eBay for $12 + $6 shipping...great quality. Been runnin them for a month now....but will get rid of them soon for my projectors

I've never had a Nokya bulb burn out for over 3 years....in my Mazda 626 and to my Acura 3.0 CL Premium. Dunno how yours burnt out -_-
