Headlights turning yellow

My headlights are changing to a dull yellow look. I don't wanna spend $500 on new ones so how do I clean them? Should I sand them or even try one of those plastic polishing kits?

plastic and plexiglass cleaner first then metal polishing cream, Blue Magic works pretty good.
