Header Advice

Hi, Just wondering if anybody out there has any recommendations on a header for a 2.2 CL, also does it improve the performace at all? Or is it a waste of time/money.

Thanks in advance.

No advise which one never had a 4cyl car. But headers allow the car to breathe better which along with exhaust and an intake will make a big power increase. Allowing the car to breathe is the first step in any motor. Doing these mods will get you better performance out of future mods.

If you do a search you will find at least a dozen threads about headers. Basically, if you want any gain on the f22 engine, you need good headers. The best ones for our car are DC Sports 4-2-1, according to the general consensus of the board. They cost about 400$ shipped (for stainless, less for ceramic). Also, it seems the preferred mod order is intake, exhaust, then header. The header is supposed to get back some of the torque the intake and exhaust lose. Personally, i'm gonna get OBX headers because I can get them wholesale, making them a third of the cost of DC, they are still stainless, and i dont really plan on racing.

Yeah need to whole setup to use the potiential of it. intake/headers/exhaust. But you really get not that much each. some people can't feel 10-15 hp difference and it depends on what rpm u are at also to get that hp.

totally agree. i have dc 4-2-1 ceramic header. got aem cai first, hks cat back 2nd, dc header 3rd. definitely made a diff off the line, and mid-high slight bump. worth all $320.

I went to the honda-tech forum and those guys seem to dislike DC Sports on their accords and seem to really like Kamikaze headers. No one on this board seems to have them so I'm not so sure. Have you guys heard of HP Racing, because their headers are soooo damn cheap.
