NJ has plenty of ricers too.

I saw 2 first gens on campus today, one was a 97 2.2, black with gold badges and the other was a 98 or 99 2.3, iced teal with clear corners. it was nice, except the 2nd CL had a chromed out 99 grille. ruined the look of the car.

that was hydraulics just to clarify and that = doo doo. air could be pulled off. it looks good low gotta love the 2nd gens. and also you can make air fairly quiet with the right ports and valves and all. ppl go for the biggest ports lines and valves with no type of exhaust for one. they want everyone to know that theyre on air.

air is very usuable in day to day. the struts even require less upkeep. any leaks will have you sittin for a few minutes till you build air though that is if your slammed when you get in. its always fun waitin on the damn thing to get you off the ground enough to drive. several of my buddies have and had bagged trucks so ive gotten the pleasure to install them and work out the kinks. fun stuff.
edit also i left out before the bigger the port the faster it drops.

^but do the bags/lines like cold weather? cuz it's been as cold as -60*F here. that's the main problem that i have thought of, besides that it would be something i would like to do, except make it super quiet

I have to get my passenger side wheel bearing replaced. Don't the 97's have a different front setup than the 98's thats alot harder to work on? BTW, anybody a cost guesstimate on what this will be?

^^oh ic, cuz i know when i had an alignment issue on my last car, my front wheels would have a lot of play and they'd toe out, causing horrible tire wear on the insides. so if you got the issues fixed it still may shake cuz the tires are fuk'd. Just an idea tho, don't know what else there'd be

97 front rotors have to be pressed out, which really sucks

Just sold my Rockford 450.2 and bought an Orion 1200d... Got the Orion for about 100 after using the money from my 450 to pay for it, so I'm pretty happy. Now I just need to sell my T110, and find the rest of the money for the Ascendant Audio Havoc, build the new box, and fiberglass up some amp racks... I'll make sure to post a build log when I start, which will probably be sometime in the spring...

Mitch, you ever finish your false floor? I know you had the part on top of your box built, but didn't ever see pics of the rest of it...

^naw matt, it was gonna be made by my buddy's friend, the same guy that i bought the box from. But my buddy was really busy and i kept forgetting to ask him. So hopefully that is what is gonna happen in the springtime or so. The pics that i posted when i first got it done is basically the way it looks right now, except i ghetto rigged a cargo net from my caddy just behind the box so that it sections the amp/cap from the rest of the trunk(can't risk getting that chrome amp scratched). I also have part of the false floor from the guy when he had the stuff installed in his cl(just the part of the trunk that i have sectioned off right now, so it would cover the amp and everything else in the trunk behind the box for the subs). But his piece would look weird with my setup, cuz my amp is off center and i want to get an extra cutout for the cap. And i'll see if there is anything else i wanna do with the trunk, not sure if i wanna keep it original looking or to add a little flair.
And actually none of the flase floor is done right now, the top of the box only looks done cuz it's carpeted, but the carpet is the wrong shade anyways. And when it does get flase floored the new floor level i want is gonna be flush with the top of the sub grilles. And close enough to the subs that you won't see the screws or most of the rings around them, we'll see how much this'll all cost tho and how long it'll take

97s have a hub over rotor design. meaning your hub assemblies hold your rotors in place sorta, and are most definitely seized together. removal of either requires a press and can damage one or the other.

i would suggest getting you front brakes (rotors/pads) and both bearings done together.

damn Mitch, that sounds like a hell of a project... I'm trying to keep mine mostly under wraps until I can get some of it done... I have everything planned out, and I know what I need to get it done, but I just don't have the time or cash to do it... Sounds like your set-up will look sick when finished... Can't wait to see pics, man...

^ya matt me too, just trying to make it through the rest of the school year right now tho, kinda have time, but not any money (haven't had a job since October, but i only have to pay for gas, insurance, and phone bill) gotta wait for that tax return lol. My setup is gonna be more on the stock side tho, might have a few surprises but be mostly functional. Whereas i know you're going for somethin a little more custom, with the talk of glassing and all. Haha and i gotta get myself a job too, and i think i should be back into this in system stuff about end of may or early june when i'm making some good money. We'll see who can have theirs done first even tho i know it'll take me longer.

Well it seems like it's gonna be pretty nice here for the next couple days or so, so the cl gets to stay outside once again. It was like 17*F or 3*F with the windchill tonight when i walked the dog. So glad it's warming up as i hate wearing my winter jacket, and now have gone back to just wearing hoodies when i go outside But i just checked the forcast and it'll be going back down again to around 0*F next week, ohwell still seems better than what we had before, and it gives me hope that this winter crap will be done with soon.
next year i might look into getting a winter beater tho, as i hate to drive the cl in some of this weather, and let it get so dirty.

haha if you had winters like us Mo you'd understand, it's not just that the cars get dirty, it's that they have to go through huge snowpiles, and be subjected to really cold temps as in my case. Cold temps really do some damage to cars, that's the main reason my last car fucked up so badly, in the summer and warm temps it was fine, but not in -30*C weather. Even my bro's 08 tsx doesn't sound too healty right now
i was actually thinking either a 4runner, or maybe just a nissan pulsar gti-r, now that would be fun, or maybe just some type of subaru

Silvercl, you should buy one forsure, especially with the price of cars out in ontario. damn probably the next car i get will be form out there, cuz my first two already have been

we're talking bout winter beaters tho, like cars that cost a grand or a couple grand, not more than the cl and i'm pretty sure i can't drive an atv on the street, and i wouldn't wanna get hit by a car while riding one of those anyways

^ i just don't really like to own a crappy car, can't see myself driving around in a real couple hundred dollar car that you wouldn't care about. That's why i suggested things like a subaru 99+, or a pulsar gti-r just so i could have some fun(but i'd prolly be too tempted to speed, and that wouldn't end with a good result on slippery roads)
or maybe just a 4 runnner so i can run the snowbanks over and not care
i just want something preferrably AWD or 4WD that doesn't mind the cold, everything else i could care less about
