Odds are, you will put a lot of time and effort into this project and not be happy with the reliability of the end result. Good luck though, and props for invoative thinking.
i don't really see it as being to much for what i'd get out of it. I only paid 4500 for the car, plus like i said i'm not looking to do this to make any profit off the car down the road. just personal satisfaction and having a one of a kind ride.

I have heard of both the corvaire and the pinto. but if memory serves the corvaire had the motor in the back, not the gas tank. And the pinto only caught fire because they use metal straps on a metal gas tank and during the collison they would rub to gether and ignite the gas/fumes.

If it make you feel better i'll build the subs and amp in the spare tire well and use a lexus sc300 gas tank behind the seat. then i could do a custom filler car too, hmm.

it should be plenty reliable. i'm gonna leave the honda motor in. I'm re-thinking the manual swap. it'd be a whole lot faster to just leave it auto, get a high stall torque converter and a shift kit. lol, flappy paddle gearbox anyone? i saw a kit to convert any 3/4spd auto into paddle shift.

lol i'm building a hotrod out of a honda.

I Fear No Five O; i'll take pics when they get finished. There's also a 1968/9 dodge charger that got huge tubs in the back and the SRT10 Ram drivetrain; auto trans on a viper motor looks funny. i had to shorten the axel on that. it's out getting painted right now.

From the looks of your other projects, you are more than qualified to do this conversion. Keep us updated on the progress.

And if you need a test driver for the performance testing of the finished project, I'll offer my services free of charge .

thanks for the vote of confidence. i think boston is a little far to go for a test drive though.

for those of you booing the choice to stay auto. i'm lazy and i've had all my 5spd fun with the accord. plus an auto would work better with the turbos plus it's not like it won't be able to do a burn out.

I dont wanna say much and be wrong, but if I jad to guess itll be all the same in terms of motor mounts........ probably the same for all J -series motors from the little J30 to maybe the new J37

lol, now we're getting into the unreasonable side of things. i'd basically have to pick up a wrecked/rolled-over mdx to get all the parts.

but that's basically what my mechanic said i should do. he said a pilot AWD system though. problems is i'm gonna get an AWD daily driver so i can take s the CL off the road. so there's no point in having 2 AWD vehicles. Especially if i get a scooby.

I'm sure the mounts are similar, the question is, will it fit in the tiny engine bay of the 3.0

Similar, yes, interchangable without modifications, no. Even the 98-02 accords carry different mounts then our 3.0's. BUT, if you're willing to drill new holes int he subframe, then it could work. Depending on the similarities of the motor mount brackets.

Although the short block isn't interchangeable with our heads/tranny. You could attempt the whole swap at a price.

he's turning the engine 90 degrees so the mounts don't really matter they're gonna have to be custom fabbed anyway.

If you come across a money tree you should find an NSX powerplant and drop that biotch in the CL

True. I was under the impression they were just talking about leaving it fwd and making it manual. But yes, making it rwd the mounts wont matter since it'll be custom anyways.

But as far as the blocks go, they are not all interchangable.
