Has anyone else had this engine problem 97 3.0
Feels like the cars compression is way to strong, like your always in 2nd. I will drive 35-45 and it will be in fourth gear. When i remove my foot from the gas the tach will drop to like 1000 then jump to 1700 then stay at 1500. It also seems to be shifting ruffly, and there is a click when it does change gears... Any help would be appreciated

i think cuz its shifting into 4th...
drive on D3 unless u go above 45 mph (O/D off)
it may just like, if you press it hard enough, downshift to gear 3 everytime u accel when ur cruising at that speed with O/D (Gear 4).

yeah obviously that will fix the rpm issue, i was using the35-45 as an example. The compresion thing happens at any speed, and driving in 3rd would make it worse. As to it switching gears, it wouldnt change the rpms by 500 if you were switching gears. But thanks for the imput and suggestions.

it is your sensor on your tranny that is going out
i know this for sure, you will notice that the car will try to shift gears and it will be like, " ok im shifting, ok now, wait, wait, wait, wait, ok, wait, ok now shift"
the sensor is going bad that tells the tranny when to shift and it is causing the car to idle weird
are you getting a weird high pitched whining noise?
this part can not be rebuilt and it is 329 for the part
hit me up on aol im @ jgiguere17 and i can try to talk to you about it and see if this is it but im almost positive it is

damn.. too many tranny problems. If my tranny goes out, I'm just gonna say fuck it, and get a bullet proof tranny from Dr evil trannies, since nobody on here hass one yet, I'll be the first .

yeah but your looking at paying like 5g for one if your on a gb and 7g if you dont get on the gb over at v6performance.net
too much money for a tranny, if you take your stock one and take it to a specialized race shop that specializes in trannies, but not dr. evil im sure they can beef it up some, im going to talk to my guy thats doing mine tomorrow and see what he says we can do and if he can do mine and beef it up or give me ideas on how to so we can get a better idea on how to do it
from what i have heard there is not much you can do to the tranny to beef it up the dr. evil ones are specialized to the car and the trannies for the honda v6 and the 3.0 CL are totally different and made completely different from what he has told me cause the styles dont match up
