Dunno if anyone around here is interested in a H23 swap, but this is quite a deal

 

I read something about, I think CLpower? When he had a deal on an H23A, how his F22 mods would have a larger impact on the H23

 

just find an h22 head and slap it on your f22 bottom end..

more of a boost friendly setup. no, i didnt go that route.. however i am using an h23 crank in my h22 bottom end. the h would be an easier, more direct swap.

 

how much work is it to swap in the H22 head?

bumps up the displacement a lil bit. you'll be making more power on the bottom end, but you sacrifice higher revs.. it's the complete opposite what i wanted to do but my h22 crank was fucked up and the easiest thing for me to get ahold was an h23 block.

imo, it really depends how you're going to drive your car. i just named other alternatives. i'm a person that likes to rev high, and my setup is built to rev over 8k, so yes, the complete H22 setup is meant for me. now, in my situation, my motor blew and my H22 crank was messed up. at the time, i could only get my hands on a blown H23 block with the crank still intact and in very good shape. the problem with the H23 cranks is that they aren't meant to rev like an H22. it makes no sense for me to sacrifice higher revs because i'll just top out faster on my already short geared H22 tranny with boost. on the plus side of things (except my situation), the H23 crank creates better low-end power than the h22.

well thanks for the help insy, im getting a job soon and im saving for a motor swap so, your opinion is a big one from here.

 

you'd be happy with the h22. if you decide to boost your H later on, it would be a very fun freeway car.

 

well im planning on it, just waiting for the moeny lol. is it true thet 92-96 h22's are more boost friendly?

 

92-96' are closed deck and is a more solid design but they don't cool the cylinder walls too well as opposed to an open deck design. and 97'+ are opened deck yet the cylinders "float". Under boost, the thing is in a stock sleeved open deck design, the increased ammount of combustion distorts the cylinders which can lead to some problems. you can still boost on either block design, but the #1 thing you can count on is piston failure (ex. cracking). so, when you decide to boost the H, i highly reccomend getting forged pistons. if you're going to get forged pistons, then you'll need to sleeve the block and you might as well buy a nice set of rods too. that way, you're ensuring a stronger and safer (than stock) setup while boosting. in the end you can boost more and not worry about your bottom end failing. you'll still need to get it tuned, though.

the best thing to do is build your bottom end and get a good ems. that way you can boost and do more rather than worrying about your bottom end failing.

turbo, more power options, superchargers dont have upgrades, smaller pully is the only thing ive seen for them and the turbonestics kit gains more hp than the jackson racing s/c

 

but isn't turboing it alot more work..

 

kind of, insyone will prolly explain it better tho, turbos can eb upgraded up you want more power, but turbo lag is gay, S/C are always going=instant power but not as upgradable. and if you want to be more diff, i dont know of a s/c h22 cl!
