H22A 5spd w/LSD

i know people have talked about h22's a shitload, but i havent really found one to answer my questions.. so here goes

i've basically made the decision to get this engine from jdm; however, my friend who owns a del sol told me that it's not worth it? i'm pretty much gonna get it still, but i don't understand what he meant. it has good hp and tq. he said that there has to be a lot of interior changes - i know i gotta change my gauges and add a clutch, but other than that, what else is there? he said aside from the engine ($2750), i gotta spend a shitload on other stuff to make my car run correctly or something... any help is appreciated

p.s. what would be the price of installation? i got a quote of 1g, not sure if that's the right price tho

With just the swap, you'll be fine. You can just tune your car for about 100 bucks after some mods to make it run smoothly/maximize their gains. There's no reason as to why you would have to change/upgrade your internals unless you were boosting high boost.

You should call up shops for advice as well. They can teach you a few things.

if it's a full swap, you wont have to buy any extras. It'll come with everything needed for the swap. Motor, tranny, ecu, harness, the works....

if your thinkin about going for at to 5spd you`ll need all the pedal assemply and you can just drop in any h22 and it should fit right in. and work perefectly fine if you use your obd2 setup,if you were to downgrade to obd1 u must redo your wiring or just make a jumper. I did my swap at SPARKS in baldwin park since it says your located in my area got any questions wanna peep my swap jes lmk.

obd1 = cars ecu; years: pre 95'
obd2 = cars ecu; years: 96'+

obd2 systems monitors virtually every fuel and emission related components on the vehicle that can affect the emission performance.

for the auto to 5 speed conversion, you'll need:

pedal assembly
master cylinder
shifter
and some other things.

i suggest looking at a junkyard. you may probably find the parts that you need for the 5 speed conversion.
