Not to be a stickler, but throw some periods on those sentences lol. Anyway, definitely challenge it in court, u never know, you could get a plea bargain to take it down to just a fine with no points. Thats why if i ever get tickets in NY, i just fight it cuz usually u can get the charges reduced. Its all about money to them.

The likelihood of that is very slim, and he didn't say anything incriminating, just that he wasn't going as fast as the officer said he was

I didn't add any words at all and if they can edit that post better than I can, that would suck.

You have a couple of tow trucks, so I know you own at least one GPS unit. Have you verified your car's speedo with it? I found out that mine was off with my Garmin unit...it's worth a check to avoid hassle of going to court and finding out that you're wrong. And if your speedo is off, you could possibly get the punishment reduced by getting a verification from a mechanic. My dad had a ticket dropped about twenty years ago when he proved that his speedo was incorrect...worth a try.

In which case you could get a charge of failure to maintain proper working order of your vehicle or whatever it is.. i dont know what the penalty for that is but perhaps its worth looking into.

Also, cops are trained to visually estimate your speed, they don't necessarily need to get you on a gun or pace you.. both are going to make it a more open and shut case for him, but it's not like he has to do one of those or else you're free.

Forget paying double, just try to get it down to paying the fine with no points. I had 3 summonses in 1 stop once and got it down to no points, just the fine.

If the cop was going off his training, you can challenge his experience and how long hes been a cop. Theres books on getting out of tickets and there is 1000 ways to do it

My friend speeds everywhere and gets tickets. He's never had to pay one, because he just postpones his date a few times and then the cop doesnt show up in the end.

Take it to court. If he was using a radar gun, you have a couple of options. Make sure his radar calibration is up to date, as well as all his other paperwork. If a single thing is out of date, expired, or not up to the correct standards at the time that the ticket was issued, it will have to be thrown out.
