H&R springs w/ Koni's

Hey guys, im fairly new to this site but from looking around a little it seems that our suspension lines up wiht the 94-97 accord but one of my friends wants to sell me his springs and shocks for his 98 accord...so i was just wondering if it would still fit a 98 2.3

also on a side note, i just replaced my tires and while the car was at the shop they told me that both my front axel boots are torn and ripped open...how serious is this?...should i look to replace this asap?

thanks for the help

Sorry but the springs and shocks from a '98 accord will not fit your 2.3. You will have to use '97 accord springs and shocks. Oh and you should replace those boots they help keep lubrication in and dirt out. Welcome to the board by the way.

Yes, replace it asap, it will be relatively cheap...if you leave it as is, it is possible your axles will go bad which costs exponentially more than replacing boots.

nope!!! its a wear and tear part!!!

they would not cover it... for example.. its like taking it back to the the dealer and saying my breakins are gone... can you cover it

hehe

well yeah you should replace it asap but better yet.. if its been torn... you should clean it or get new ones...

Ditto. NO WARRANTY!

How many miles on your CL? You might want to ask them to look into it further (for something wrong; e.g.: premature wear). My CL has around 60K, and the boots are fine.

BTW, welcome to the board!

Define cheap? I haven't had to replace a boot on my CL, but it was like $200 to replace the boots on one side of my '92 accord. But they put on honda boots, not aftermarket two-part boots.

I'd also suggest doing the inner and outer boot at the same time. When my inner boot was wearing they replaced the outer one for just the cost of the boot since they had to take it off anyways (assuming you're using real boots and not the two-part ones).

If you're going to the dealer, they're going to want to use the honda boots. Look into how much it would cost to replace the joint with the re-manufactured one, it's often times like $30 more than replacing the boots. If your boots have been torn for a while replacing them may not buy you much time, the dirt is already in there doing its damage.
