gotta race this dude.......
gotta race this dude.......
My buddy has been givin me shit since I got the CL about a month ago. He wants to race me in a 1/4 mile. He drives a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix and I'm driving a bone stock 97 3.0. What do you guys think? after doing some research it looks like our normal time is about 15.8 in the 1/4 where his should be about 13.8, so I dunno what the outcome will be, hell if it comes down to it I'll just run him off the road
Just figured I'd post and see what you guys input was. We're racing for a 1/4 of shwag, so it'll be good times either way. Racin @ 4:20 tommorow....
1999 Grand Prix = 190hp = 3.8 v6
1997 3.0 CL = 200hp = 3.0 v6
You should have him. Just make sure you have a nice start because they do have more tq and their trannys are quick but they do weigh more.

thanks for the positive reinforcement guys, I'll let you know what the outcome is tommorow. I've been talkin alot of shit back to him, so hopefuly, I'll smoke his ass
Sidenote: Any of you guys had experience with the "Helix Power Tower"? Just wondering if it is a worthwhile investment.
Also if you guys had $200 to spend on a first mod what would it be? AEM V2 or EibaCH Pro Kit? Trying to get started with mods on this car and trying to figure out where would be the best starting point.

i dont know guyz if its a gtp he's toast.. theyre supercharged and they are no punk. surprisingly theres alot of gtp's out there. ive raced a bonneville sse (same motor just alittle heavier)and walked his ass, but theres also the ssei which is equivelant to the gtp, it looks like a grandma car but damn.

to that!Either way, I didn't get a chance to race him on Sunday.Got too wasted Sat. night at the Freakshow 5 http://www.dropjawmag.com. Probably take care of it this weekend. But I noticed the other day on his car it says "SE" so I'm guessing its the slower one.
