got a TSX and it's WEAK!
Dropped off the CL today for what will end up being a $1k service
and they gave me a new TSX w/ Navi and only 200 miles on it. Its a really nice ride, smoother than the CL anyway, and all of the gadgets are very user freindly, but its fukin SLOW. I drove the 6 speed TSX a few weeks ago and I thought it was slow, but now I got the auto and I will have to say this would make a nice car for my MOM. Its very smooth, revs nice, handles well, but seriously lacks torque. I guess they can't put a V-6 in it or it might effect sales of the TL, but damn for $28k loaded I expected a lot more, especially when you can get the 280 hp TL for $33k or $35k w/ Navi..Anyway, just thought I would share..I really miss the 3.0, but I will get it back tomorrow
btw-I know someone will ask wtf is up with a $1k service so here ya go...
105k Timing belt/water pump, etc. $720
Valve Adjustment $120
Transmission Service $65
Oil Change $30
Plus anything else they find

Yeah, I know what your saying. Fuckin 4000 pound car with a 4cyl. Dont get me wrong, the K series 2.4 is very badass with tons of potential, but not in that package. This old man with a six speed tried to get some of my CL not too long ago. I dusted his ass with ease. I'll bet he saw the 2.2CL on the trunk and thought he would pull me. He got none of this H22.
It weighs 3230lbs with the manual. With bolt ons/hondata, you can see it in the low 14s. Lots of potential there...
The auto stinks tho. The tranny has got much diff ratios than the manual, it'll be slow foreva.

I thought I read in Car & Driver that it was 4100 pounds fully loaded. It seemed very heavy to me. Mabey I'm wrong-My bad. I should be getting a Hondata soon for my motor. It's alot cheaper to run Hondata than the AEM ems. Those K motors are deffinately sick though. I heard they can support some serious hp when tuned.

Again, it IS a very nice car, but the only 4 cyl I ever owned was in an Integra GSR so it was quick, and the TSX is not. Sure is pretty tho, and the interior is REALLY nice. Although I still think with the modding you would have to do to make it faster, you would be better off buying a TL.

you know.... obviously neither of us have THAT much to do at work today and well, we could prob go back and forth like this for the rest of the day..so lets just call it a mis-communication and let it go.

Thats what I thought too!!! Shit for the 28k that they ask I would expect nothing less than a V6. But all in all I think it's tight! I love the shape and lines that it has. Out of all the Honda/Acura cars out, I would jump on that one. Or the new TL

Power delivery is a lot more linear w/ the new dohc K series motors, that might be what you perceived as slower. Whereas the B series motors don't have the same kind of powerband. When the B series motors, specifically the b18c1's switch intake runners and hit the high lift cam, its like a different engine, bigger spike in power.

I'll add my two cents to this thread.
Last week while my EGR valve was being fixed I also got a TSX auto as a loaner so I was able to give it an extended test drive.
My normal driver is a '98 CL 3.0.
I always liked the TSX but I agree, it did feel under-powered as compared to my 3.0 even with 131k on the odometer.
Also, the engine it didn't feel as smooth as my high-mileage CL.
In every other category it was superior to my CL, especially handling.
