Got my painted-on pinstripe removed today!!!
I'm so excited!!!
It turned out even better than I thought it would
It's like it was never there...no discoloration underneath or anything...just a clean white car.
In case you guys didn't see my thread in the photoshop area about my considering the removal of the pinstripe, here it is:
HERE
What's even better, I was expecting to pay at least $75, and they only charged me $66.15!!!! Sweet deal
So if any of you out there that have a painted-on pinstripe that you aren't that crazy about, I highly recommend talking with your favorite body shop.
I think it took just over an hour (and mine went all the way around the trunk too) and they said it actually came off pretty easily.

Rick, I got it done at a place called Olson's Body & Paint about 2 blocks from where I live.
The place I got my springs/shocks installed are on the same block that I live.
It's nice to be getting some good quality work done while supporting the local community.
Also nice to be able to drop the car off and be in walking distance home

Jamie, thanks for the info!
BTW: I got the Teflon deal through the dealer. They apply a new coating every 6 months for 3 years. They guarantee "no waxing necessary" for the 3 years. I have NEVER waxed my car. I went through the local "brushless" car wash today (got rid of all that salt), and my paint looks BRAND NEW.
SORRY TO WHORE THE THREAD!!!! :P
Now back to JamzCL's stripe-less CL!

I guess all they do is some fine grit wet sanding and some buffing and that's about it.
If I had known it was going to be so inexpensive to remove without leaving any damage to my paint, I would have done this over a year ago.
For $66 one of my best mods yet
hmmmm...I think I'll add it to my sig
