Good morning fellers

I know that I wanted a new car, but this is not exactly the way I wanted to go about doing it.... I didn't want to get rid of the CL, just garage it. I really wish people would pay attention.

it looks like a bent frame, it looks like it missed the bumper impact bar and went straight for the frame.

Its a lot worse than the pictures show to be honest. He was driving an 08 Jeep Patriot, so he went right up my bumper into my trunk. The only thing holding my my tail light on was the harness. The side panel is dented. I dont know if you can see it in the pictures...

The blue book on the car is 7800. So they total it off at I think 50-75%. I could see it easily costing that to fix.

It looks like shit, but its yours if you want it.

Thanks for all the support guys. I'm pretty bummed. As much shit as I talked about the car, it was still a part of me.

The insurance chick just left and said that from what she could physically see, just in parts, it came out to be about 3500.00.. I would not be suprised if they total it out.

If you see on one of the pictures, right below the rear windows, there is a nice dent from the frame bending. So I know for a fact that the frame is fubar'd.

As far as future car plans. I have no fucking clue what I want. I want a truck, but I don't want to pay 75 bucks each week to drive it.. I don't know. I will know by friday if it is going to be a total or not.

I don't know, I really have mixed emotions about the whole thing. Almost to the point of where I feel sick to my stomach. Part of me is like "i hope it is totaled, with frame damage the car will never be the same, in more ways than one." But on the other hand, I never wanted to get rid of it, it was a fun car to drive.

No, I was at a stop. It was right before a school zone and there is A LOT of traffic right there. So I was actually stopped. He told the insurance co that he was going about 15mph... He missed the business end of the bumper and slid right on up into my trunk.

sorry man it really sucks......but to put it in a positive note......why not take the totalled amount check and rebuy the same car from your insurance on a salvaged title and fix it cosmetically if you dont mind driving the car with slight frame damage....ofcourse it has to be safe....atleast you will have a couple of grands in your pocket.....to buy another ride....

my 2%

P.S. If they do total it, its times like this I wish I would have not sold my "mexican rims"

Buying the car back is not going to happen assuming it is totaled. I was in a pretty bad front end accident and the car was never the same after that. I was going to buy another car and use that as my toy because I am going to be doing a lot of driving. That CL was not the best car to drive on the highway. Which was a result of my first accident.

45mph head on into a curb causing 7k worth of damage.

They just now took it on a flatbed to the progressive shop to tear it apart to see how much frame damage is done. I know it is gonna be bad. Plus, once there is frame damage, the car always has a chance to revert back to the bent frame.

I think this car is just a target. I know it was hit before I bought it, but didnt know that until I went to peel off the pin stripping. So it was hit at least once before and twice since I have had it.

Not any CL, just my CL. It was never "solid" the car would drift inside the lane even if you did not move the wheel. Any bump in the road with throw the car in the direction of whichever side the bump was on.

That's why I got rid of my 2 year old Trans Am after it got creamed, never drove the same, and the suspension was all jacked up... loved that car

Well... They are fixing it. It is to be done in two weeks. In my experience with insurance/car repairs, probably more like a month. I am kind of bummed and happy at the same time. I don't know which feeling is stronger though.

Yeah, Thats why I said that I was happy and sad. I have put a lot of blood sweat and tears into that car. I have to drive a lot for my work and that car is just downright annoying to drive on longer-ish trips.
