good idea or bad

i got a '98 acura cl 3.0 and i was thinking that if i were to get a 2" drop on my car it would be right on top of my tire right? And the stock wheels weight 26 pounds each right? So my idea is to get 16" alloys and some fatters tires to reduce the weight the most i can from the tires? good idea or bad or sholud i just good with the 17's instead? the reason for this is because i want a normal ride and no rubbing at all! thank you for ur commets.

CLpower and a couple of other members are using Eibach sportline springs which I think give you a little bit more than a 2" drop. CLpower is also running 18" or was that 19"...hmm I forget, wheels. He says that he gets a little bit rubbing on the inside on tight turns.

I think for you, if you want around a 2" drop, go with the sportlines and then get lighter 17's...that is maybe the same setup as I am going to go with.

Sportlines, 17s. CLPower has 18s with sportlines, he doesn't rub I don't think. I have the prokit with 18s and I don't rub at all. But my drop looks almost stock.

well, i have eibach sportline aswell... my drop was a 1.5"... but they settlesd at 2" & 2.25"... car handles and looks great!!! I plan on doing 17's with 45.... equals the size of 16's with 50/55s... It will keep the wheel well full so the lowering looks more and theres no rubbing!!! good luck!!

That is because you ordered the wrong fucking springs........so you are not qualified to give advice.
Anyway, I got the pro-kit installed on my car. I also have 18's. No rubbing at all, not even when I go over semi-bad bumps. The drop looks great. My tires are 225/40/18. I heard the 45 series might give you some rubbing.

Pro-kit with Stock rims and tires, for now. I'm planning on getting 18's with 45's eventually. My drop was supposed to be 1.4, but I think it's at least 2. It looks almost as low as Capser's ride.

Its too hard to tell... you all are saying this inch and taht inch but as I learned and melo now notices too... you buy a spring with a designated drop and she will settle eventually, sooner than later... what this means is... DONT BUY RIMS TILL YOU CAR DECIDES SHES SAGGIN AS LOW AS SHE WANTS TO GO!!!!......later
