going for the kill

today is my day off.

i was driving home and decided to start messing with the tranny.

for those of you who dont know me, i am trying to kill the tranny the safest way

in order to get a new one for free. (not exactly free, but my warantee will pay for it).

so i was on my driveway (steep incline) and i put it in from 1 to 2 and back to 1 again.

i rolled down the driveway backwards in 1 and the car stalled, in 2 the car would not

stall. I want to put this thing out of its misery, its suffering. I am about to just leak

out some of the tranny fluid, i am getting so frusturated.

For someone doing something so illegal you sure make a lot of threads about this.

its not illegal. the guy i baught the warantee off of clearly was aware that my tranny

was on its way out.

itd be illegal if i had "snuck" through and just baught a warantee as an impulse,

i had a reason, and he was aware.

Aint no secret. But all I have to say, is if you really want to do it, Drain your dirty fluid out, not all, but most, run it till it breaks, and put the same dirty fluid back in. If you can put fluid directly in, not sure on that. But that would be a good way to grind some gears. You didn't hear it from me though

Well it's fraud. It's like purposely getting into an accident to total your car and collect insurance money. But hey...I'm not here to judge, just letting you know that it's risky posting things like this cause you never know who's watching. Hope you get your new tranny though. It's BS that they won't just fix it now since it IS slipping.

Double check to see if they will fix it since it's slipping? Wouldn't hurt unless it's not that serious. Is it really serious? If it's not that serious now and 2 days later your tranny goes out then it looks suspicious.

Get an engine flush and that'll take care of it. Looks innocent and it sure beats the price of a new tranny. Also I'm sure it'll be a lot easier on your concience.

Its all about negotiation.. Put it to them like this:
"You: Fix my tranny now. im under warranty..
them: No its not broken.
You: It slips...(prove to them it slips, have an ASE certified mechanic write up a work order)
Them: But its not broken just a little old..
You: OK then if it slips and i get into an accident i will sue you for negligence.."

Bam u got urself a new transmission without putting unneccesary stress on the rest of my car. Gitrr done

^^True. If you make it look like its unsafe for you to drive like that, they have to change it. Tell the ins. co. to take it for a test drive. Is the tranny really slipping?

thats what i did, my dad is a lawyer and already sued the dealership and acura a year before for his 03 tl typeS when his tranny blew and almost caused an accident. my dad got a 04 tl from that and i got a brand new tranny when i told them it was slipping.

get your diagnosis, and prove that it's slipping, and make the point that it's a safety risk. You'll be golden.
