I had the same problem about a year ago. I took all of it off and got a new steering wheel cover. I didn't like it too much at first but now i like it.

mine is messed up too. I think teh MDX steering wheel with the woodgrain look is pretty sweet,a dn I think Iw ill be replacing mine with that.
