Gauges

Ok yesterday I was planning on doing the different color lighting on my gauges. So I decided to take my needles off and scratch that green film off the back. Well now I put my needles back on and they don't work. I set them at 0 when the car was off. But now it's like they are sticking, but than when I get past 60 it starts working. It works on both my tach and speedometer. Do you think I should just go to acura and get a new gauge peace. How much do u think it will cost?

umm... I don't understand how you took the needles out. cuz they can't take 'em out or broken. you shouldn't of touched the needles when you worked on ur car. cuz they are too sensitive that might not work well(doesn't go up smoothly or not moving, or your case) even tho u didn't break 'em.

best to solve out this problem,

get an used Acura CL speedometer from ebay for $10~100... doesn't matter if they are MT or AT since you will just swap them.. you can still use ur current one)

(or 94-97 2dr(not 4dr) accords speedometer from ebay for around same price, but little cheaper..)

doesn't matter if they are 2.2, 2.3, or 3.0 (the differences are 97 2.2's or 3.0's needles are white, and 98-99 2.3's and 3.0's needles are solid orange, if you get accords, they are all white just for incase)

and swap them. since you know how to take the things out, you wont have any problem swapping.

but this time, be careful, DO NOT TOUCH THE NEEDLES WHEN YOU WORK ON UR THINGS.

if you bring it to the dealer, they will charge hella..
and this is kinda bad thing, but you can change ur mileage if you do it urself.. it depends on what kinds of gagues you are getting.. (i mean depends on how many mileages are on.. on ur new(used) speedometer)

Sounds like you broke your needles off. They are not made to be removable.

since he said that after 60, it starts working.. so i don't think you broke it.. but as i said, they are really sensitive... so it's better for you to change the whole setup.. and be careful this time.

VERY CAREFULLY, if you're talking about gauge faces, or change the bulbs

ive removed the needles in my 00 honda civic before using 2 spoons for leverage. Thats the only way I could install my MMR custom gauges. They went back on without any problems. So I know it can be done, Sorry I cant help you with why your needles are sticking though, unless you just put them back on too tight.

I've removed the needles on my 97 CL. When I removed the needles the post that the needle is attched to turned about a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise. When I put the needles back on I had to turn the post that 1/4 turn clockwise or the speedo was off by about 10mph.
