While were on the topic of gauges and pods...anyone know which type of Autometer gauges light up blue at night??

Ahhh!! (I HATE the 5min time limit!..lol)

You guys think this is Ghey or Cool?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-97...QQcmdZViewItem

what about this? would this fit or would i need like a 95-97?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-02...QQcmdZViewItem

<-- this one is for a 98-2000

Basically, I'd like to add some gauges and i know Im getting the 3 triple pod on the pillar, but im thinkin about adding either one of the 2 above also...you think 5 gauges is overkill and too much???

I like the bottom one, with the gauges inside with the other gauges, I don't like the frog eye ones.

Couldnt I tap them into the OEM gauge dimmer? (im planning on having about 5 gauges all blue because im going to do the LED blue light conversion of the whole interior, and everything else blue with like green or white guages at night woudnt look good IMO... But yea, coudnt I just tap them into the OEM dimmer so i could dim them so they woudnt blind me?

The second one is prob what I'd get...(the 2 inside the other gauges...next to the RPM's and speedo)

What year accord would fit our car?? I take it the 98-2000 woudnt fit...

do u all think it looks like crap to have one pillar with 3 pods in like a black or CF while the passenger pillar is the OEM color??

like mine are a light sand/tan color...so the passenger side will be that color and my side will have a pod thats like black or CF...

is this going to look wierd??

it kind of does but my dads f350 has 2 pods on the driver side in black and the tan oem on passenger it looks ok, doesnt really bother me any. You could always get oem in black from the dealer, or paint the ones you buy to try to match oem. Just set em up when you get them to see if its one of those things that bothers you or not, then you'll know what to do.

CF will look fine. I am curious, did your gague cluster come with the thin chrome trim rings? I think that makes them look classy.

grrrr...why dosnt Autometer make the intake temp gauge in the Cobalt series!?! Crap!...Looks like i'll have to go with the Ultra Lite series to get all 5 gauges i want...i just wish the ultralite series had a chrome ring design...

So far im thinkin about
1. intake temp / 2. air to fuel / 3. volt / 4. oil press. / 5. D PIC

although i really want the cobalt series for their look...black with chrome...if only they came out with a cobalt intake temp gauge...

i'd just like some gauges...i like the looks of them, but yes, 5 is probably too much and ricey...I'll prob just go with 3 on the pillar.

Question:
what is the main purpose for gettin a Oil pressure gauge?? I mean if your not boosted or anything...is there really a point?? (im not that knowledgeable on gauges)

Im thinkin i'll just get: Air-Fuel / Volt / D PIC

any places to buy gauges cheap?? Ebay seems to have mostly new ones still goin for alot..(i know gauges are expensive, but i was hoping to find atleast the A-F & Volt at around $50 each. Now i now I'll prob have to pay a shitload for the D PIC gauge...

If your oil pump fails and you lose oil pressure, you can spin a bearing, throw a rod and do all sorts of damage. Which will require a rebuild or a new bottem end.

I spun a bearing in my single cam VTEC motor at 96K miles because the oil pump crapped out on me. If I had an oil pressure guage, I would have known to stop driving the car. Instead of just replacing the oil pump, I had to buy a new motor.

Lots of 4 cylinder Honda motors spin #3 rod bearing because they lose oil pressure.

huh..i c...so thats true for the 6cyl also?? So then now if i get an oil press. gauge, that makes 4 gauges...so i need one more...what else would you recomend me getting??
oil temp? tranny temp? water temp??

Basically what im saying is..i know i atleast want A-F, Volts, and D PIC...then if i need (*thinking i should get*) Oil Press. then i need one more gauge to fill the pods...

just forget about the volt, there's really no big deal about that, if u lights dim, than u have a problem. At least that's wut I would do. But if u want u can drill a big enoguh hole next to the climate control and put ur gauge in the wood part!

naww..i'll just end up getting 5 i guess..i mean, i'll just have to find one more gauge to get...I definitly need Volts because of all the electronics im running (I need to upgrade to a optima batt.) Soo... Air-Fuel, Volts, D PIC, Oil Press, andd...(thats the sucky thing..theres really not another one i really need...i mean, i know we have horrible trannys so maybe i'll just get a tranny temp gauge?? i donno..

how many electronics do u have, because if u only have a stereo, juss put a cap w/digital output mount it where the ski hole goes, and leave the ski hole open. I mean, u can't have to much electronics.
