Just picked up my CL from the shop this morning(been there since saturday), for a new gas tank. Last week I started smelling gas while in the car, took it to the nearest shop and they put it on a lift, to find gas leaking from my tank. Got a new one installed $600 later.

 

$600, ouch, a patch kit costs like $25

 

The way it was leaking i didnt want to take the chance of driving it or any quick fix. This must be salt errosion on the tank.

 

I hear ya, my girl's grand am's gas tank had 4 holes in it

 

Mine had 4 too. Thats definite time for me to move on. Looking for a 2nd gen but they're had to find with average milage and price.
