i use 93, runs smoothe and better gas milage. the reason it runs kidna funny is because your ecu has to ajust to the different octane level so if you usually use 87 and then jsut put in 93 it will be a little funny. i always use 93 and one day my mom filled up my tank for me and she put in 87 and when i remote started my car to go out when she got home it just stalled and it was like my fuel pump was going.. i just revved it up and it was all good. the ecu has to ajust. this is an ongoing argument lol it will never bee one sided.. you can also do a search and fien more info about what others have to say.

If higher than 87 octance runs better, then something is wrong with your car. Bad/worn plugs, valves out of adjustement, etc. Octane helps keep knocking down. The ECU doesn't need time to adjust to something like this. The sensors will detect it and the ECU will compensate, usually by pulling timing.
You can argue all you want to everyone and their uncle - the bottom line is you are wasting your money and covering up other problems. Period.

i use 91.....the reason is, cause i'm going NOS soon. Anywayz...there are technicians that say itz good to use higher octane on high compression cars. Our compression ratio is 9.5:1 Anything over 9, and 91 octane will do just fine. found all the info somewhere, but will have to look it up again if you guys want proof. oh well....this is gonna be agrued regardless. Put what you want in your car...itz yours....you be the judge...

Oh, and as for power wise....well there was a test, (on Sport Compact Cars) a civic ex that used 91 octane lost hp to the wheels, and a car that has to use 91 octance (BMW) lost power with anything below 91 octane. But again, an ex civic's compression ratio isnt as high as ours. so who knows....maybe we gain something, maybe we dont....

Our car's 9.4:1 ratios is NOT high compression at all. The Civic EX is 9.9:1, higher than our cars. The CL-S is high compression at 10.5:1, and there is a big difference between 9.4:1 and 10.5:1 even though it seems small. There is absolutly NO reason to run our NA cars on anything above 87.
As far as running it now b/c you are adding nitrous soon, that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Why don't you switch when you install the nitrous, it's not like it's something you have to order in the mail. That's like running on cold plugs for months b/c "i'm going on NOS soon". Ima go ahead and take out my seats, I'm getting new ones soon.
