Does the car start then stall and turn off? My girlfriends celica did that and it turned out to be the air temperature sensor (sp?), the car was thinking the air outside was 800degrees so the car wasn't getting the fuel it needed to run.

yeah, it starts sometimes. sometimes i have to give it gas, but when its cool outside i can start it pretty normal, but this harsh weather this week has been giving me hell. in the spring when i got the car it was fine until it started warming up

The relay can be repaired... pull it from the car, open it up and re-solder all the connections inside... normally does the trick.

If you listen carefully in quiet setting, you should hear the electric fuel pump in the fuel tank come on for about 5 secs when keyswitch is turned to ON position, and then shut off. If you hear silence, your main fuel relay is likely bad, although it could be a wiring fault or bad fuel pump also.
