front speaker wiring?

I am going to be replacing the front speakers this weekend with a set of MB Quarts. How are the stock speakers wired with stack tweeters? I'm wondering if I can use the wires going to the door speakers, or if I have to run new wires from the head unit.

Thanks!

Do you have the stock BOSE system or just the regular stock system?

Have a 98 CL with stock (non-bose) that I updated with an Alpine head unit. I am installing a set of MB Quart 6.5 Components in my doors. My original plan was to mount the crossovers in the car (not the door). But after getting in there and seeing the connector that runs from the door to the interior, I see there is no easy way of running wires into the interior.

Questions:

1) I take it the stock door woofer plug is a direct connection to the radio (I can use that for the input to my cross over?)

2) how and where is the stock tweeter crossed over (My guess is a cap across the tweeter?)

3) what's the best way to disconnect the stock tweeters? Can you just get to them from on top of the dash?

Thanks!

All I did was once I connected my wiring harness for my radio instead off connecting the front speaker wires to the radio, I just ran the to my amp!

first of all u should get a amp fo the new speakers...and get new back speakers too
the stock one that comes in acura 98 2.3 Cl that i have is focking 15w!!!-.-;; i juss replaced whole speakers and man it sounds fuc,in 100x better with a new amp

ur front and rear speakers are 15 watt each and even though u replaced ur front speakers it will sound much better but even though itz aftermarket head unit it wont give u alot of watt ....im assuming that MB quartz speakers can handle MUCH MUCH more RMS watt then wut ur head unit is giving

that's the plan baby... But for now the internal amp of the alpine 9815 (V-drive 60Wx4) is great for the quarts. I replace the rears already with Quart 6x9s and they sound GREAT.

The next step (after a few pay checks) is to use the internal amp for the front and rear, use the digital cross over built into the head unit to filter out the lows to the fronts and backs, and get a sub with an amp.

Then the next step (after a few more pay checks) will be to amp averything.

BUT, the front speakers are still wired the same way reguardless if they are being driven from an AMP or the head unit. So that install will not change. Still need my questions answered about the wiring!!!!

Thanks!
