hey guys, what is a cam gear? I noticed that AEM sells them for the accord... but what are they?

Its the gear on the end of the cam shaft that actually turns it to make the valves open and close. The gear uses a belt attached to the crank pulley to turn it with the engine. The adjustable ones allow you to tweak when your valves open and close to adjust the compression in the cylinder. Never tried them, and almost think the adjustable ones are a waste... never played with them at all. Has anyone? now i'm curious...

the way I understand it is that you need a dyno to adjust the cam gears and even after all that your only talking 5-7 horses,so it doesn't sound like its worth it,not to mention it would take alot of $$$,not just a back yard project.

I know there are type r accords are they real or fake? If they are real could we get a type r cam? that is the only way I would say it would be worth it.If they are real are the numbers the same in comparison to the gsr to the type r or is there a cam that I don't know of for the f22?Besides having one forged.

I'm trying to get my funds together for a new cam for my f22. So far my research has only pulled up 2 places. www.webcaminc.com and www.gude.com

The Web cam is a regrind so you'll have to send ur stock cams in. I'm not sure about gude, but i'm thinking it might be the same thing. Call them...keep me informed... I've already emailed them.
