Found another CL...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=5332

I don't like the rims or the paint job. The sound system is pretty insane though. It's alright but I don't think he spent $65,000 on mods like he says.

Actually that car is on one of the Import Tuners...I think either November or Decembers of 2002...I remember reading about it...The system is GODLY and it might add up to 6500...That kid is only like 19/20 and is going to Florida Atlantic University...He got all of his stuff done in Orlando, just dropped his car off and came back it was done...Then he entered it...

Oh and at the time he didn't have those rims on their...Those things are ugly...but just my opinion...

All bump with no exterior mods except rims and paint. If it had a veilside kit, than maybe it would win every show it went to, but system alone, thats only one category. Spent $65k on that car, he must have rocks in his head, id rather be driving a Viper for that price...that car prob doesnt even turn heads riding down the road

That is a hidious car!!! The only thing decent on it is the sound system. After getting a "show" paint job you'd think they would be able to put the Acura A emblem on straight....at least it looks crooked to me!

It's a good job/craftsmanship. I wouldn't necessarily spend that much $$$ and effort into a 1st Gen 2.3...you know. I mean, I like my 1st Gen CL too, but it just doesn't seem to fit the character of the car.

His paint looks very similar to my stock paint...(primrose mist)

65k? I think the sales commision on that system let someone retire.

Well, i guess since he just dropped off the car and came back and it was done then i wouldnt see him - but i havent even heard of that car and i used to install here. I still know most installers here too and they know what i drive - I will ask around and get the REAL price on this - maybe this weekend i will pay a visit to the shop hehehe

Finally, the Owner Speaks

Most everyone here seems to be confused about something.

Here is an attempt to fix it.

1. I live in Orlando and went to UCF for 5 years.

2. I am 25.

3. Audioexcellence in Orlando off of 436 installed the equipment.

4. if you would like to verify that and the cost of system, call the shop at 407-277-8790. Ask them about the gray 1998 acura 2.3 CL showcar with the F1 Status.

5. the $65,000 includes the original price of the car, which was $20,000

6. Paint job fades from dark charcoal to the original silver, and has the mica flake in the clearcoat to make it sparkle. The sparkle is difficult to show up on camera. Look at it in the Sun and it is sweet.

7. I've seen my fair share of Ugly rims, and these don't compare.

8. Car was featured in Car Audio Magazine, Feb. issue, 2003.

9. Alpine F1 Status Head unit is $3000, and the processor that works with it is $4000. 2 Alpine monitors is $1600, Navigation is $2000, 6 disc DVD Changer is $1200, Amps are another several thousand, etc... Stuff adds up.. www.alpine1.com & www.jlaudio.com Look up the stuff yourself.

10. Of course I have to pay for labor too.

11. Top of line equipment was installed since I already went with a Studio Quality headunit and digital processor.

12. I did not fancy the outside of car up because I was trying to keep the car looking classy, and not like every other import car with the complete body kit.

13. The A Emblem looks tilted and not centered due to camera angle. I did not want the flash to cause a glare.

14. DJPharmacy, Since you used to be an installer in Orlando, you would know AudioExcellence and their 3 stores they have here. If you haven't seen the car before in Orlando, then I guess you have bad luck.

15. Nandowong, the dash isn't white. It is Silver. Like the rest of the car.

Any questions you might have about the car, post them here. Any questions about buying the car, email at rampageshowcar@customtunes.com

Oh, and check out www.mp3.com/stevenrotolante

hahahaha.. you dont wanna know!!!!

NY treating my car great!!!

My trip to FL killed my baby!!! With all the rain the 3M tape on sides unglued!!! and the vibrations from the car unscrewed a screw on each end (each side) so my sides were a flapping!!! lol...

and then my bro (SlyTLS) kicked up road debri.... lets say a 12" pipe into my front bumper!!!! 2" left it was my tire, 3" right it was my radiator... either way i got a hole the size of a quarter in my bumper!!!! and i got ALOT of chips...

I am looking to do more body work, along with a full customo interior, so its gonna get painted anyway...

up close you see everything.. 10ft out shes still sitting pretty!!!

If you want to know, 1¾ years ago I went into Audio Excellence and told them that I want my headliner custom made with TVs in it to make it look futuristic. They did all the installation of the show car. Over time, I would leave my car at their shop so they can use it on display for their business... Supposedly, after Acurajl saw my car and everything in it, he wanted his car the same way. Hence, why so much of his car looks similar to mine... I don't know him either, but I know he liked mine enough to copy many features Good to be original isn't it

Hey Steve,

Why would you spend all that money and obviously a lot of shop time on that car, have it featured recently in a magazine, and then turn around and sell it?

Just curious

While having the ultimate toy to drive around, I graduated from college, got married, and bought a house. I've decided to move on and live a simplier life with my wife. The show cars I've owned have been fun while it lasted. The acura is not the only one I have had. www.customtunes.com to see the other car, 1993 Ford Probe...

So the simple answer to your question is: To move on
