I dont think any CLS owner has done it. I know they have put them in their "road lamp" housings but not there corner lights. As for doing it to ours, if you could find a small enough fog you probably could do it but fogs get extremely hot and would probably melt your clear corner.

Why don't you find some rectangle ones that look the same size as tha corner lights. Mount them right next to your clear corners. That is what I plan to do but haven't done it yet.

i want to get HIDs but they are expensive (rite?)...and like i said b4, I dont like the look of extra housings hanging out front, when and if i get some money I'll probably look into those PIAAs and see if they fit into the turning signal housings...

Warner still sells them on eBay. He selling a set right now: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...rid=moose68163
I got mine from him about a year ago for $99.00! :P
dumbaznboy: I like your idea. I was looking at a 2nd gen today, and thought your idea was cool.
Unfortunately, I think that even if you were to swap in a higher power harness, the bulbs would melt the lenses.
The harness/bulbs that are currently in the 2nd Gen CL are so weak, that for 2003, they don't even have the road lamps anymore.

Dust, what do you mean by prewired?? Not having to run a harnes or no need to install a switch? I am curious?

i go with dust... OEM fog lights-- by prewired, he means... i'm pretty sure all you have to do is add the switch in.. (opposite of the seat warmer switches) you just have to hook up the fog lights to the wires and you're good to go

All 1st gen CLs are prewired for the OEM fog light kit. When you buy the kit, you only need to plug the harness from the kit into the harness that's under the hood (at the fire wall), then mount the switch into the appropriate location (just pry up the "dummy" plug, and the connector is right there)! Obviously, there's more involved to mount the lights in the bumper, the the wiring is simple.
There are 2 kits: The '97 kit, and the '98-'99 kit.
Basically, the only difference is where the interior switch is located.
On the '97 models, the switch is located on the passenger side of the shifter (opposite the seat heater buttons--for those who have them), near the cigarette lighter:
On the '98-'99 models, the switch is located near the clock.

Just use a small flathead screwdriver to pry out the plate that's to the right of the clock. The switch connector will be right under it.
