It would look stupid on the tracks, There's no point in going all the way down unless it was a show car. I will not and do not having rubbing at those points. So what's to motify?

the issue will be where the rear bumper bolts to the car

Btw, I did not mean to be harsh what's so ever with my previous reply. We all know there are quite of bit of clean ass looking 1st gens, and I'm aware I'm far from it. But I am trying to go in a completely different direction with the car, which will be hard to like (look wise). My front windows will be replaced with nets, so you can imagine that this thing will not look pretty.

CleanCL, we did not want to cut past the point you're talking about. It was discussed beforehand, but I felt with the ride height in the rear (I dont plan on lowering the rear at all anymore), and the stiffness of the suspension, I don't see it being an issue. Now with a slammed car, yes, I could see it rubbing there with enough suspension travel. I only went with 17's, and will be going with a 40mm sidewall. It should be around the same diameter as you see in the pic already with the stockies.

40 mm sidewall on 235 width would be like 235/20/17

you probably mean like a 94mm sidewall?

did you decide to go with all 235s or are you gunna see if 245s fit?

You're right, the number for the sidewalls is the percentage of the width of the tire, my bads. I meant like a 235/40 or a 245/40. I'm buying a 245 today for the test fitment.

Those pics are with a 245/45/17. It's a used tire, so I couldn't get to picky with finding a 245/40/17. Now I know a 235 DOT approved slick will def fit perfect, as they run a bit wider than street tires naturally.

Yes sir. But it sucks having the cops ask you, "now who do you hang around with to be getting shot like that". As I step out the car with my Kenneth Cole shoes, and my Express for Men outfit listening to rock/alternative, man! I always blame the "cholos". haha.

LoL! I forget why I called now. I just got home, left early and went to the mall to pick up some stuff from Express. I'm about to start a thread in ramblings about how ridiculous the prices for cotton shirts have gotten! I just bought 3 t-shirts for $110! Two of them were $40/each, and the other was $30. I never pay attention to the prices, but I was surprised once I saw the receipt. I bought other things as well, so the total price wasn't what caught my attention. Just when I saw it while sitting in the car as to what each thing costed. I'm use to buying the t shirts 2 for $30 which is fine by me. Anyways, just hi jacked my own thread.

As for the fitment in the rear, I couldn't do it this afternoon as I had to get back to work. But I'll do it once it stops raining already!

I agree. I've been wanting to work on this car already, but can never find the time. Even though I'm home right now, I'll be taking off as soon as I get the phone call. Altough, I did attempt one thing (repositioning the latch), it wasn't enough. And I think I know where the problem lies now. I have to take my bumper off, and reposition the headlights, as I feel that's what's keeping the hood from coming down all the way as it should. I promise, one of my two days off this weekend I'll leave to my car alone. And will post pics of the hood finally closed all the way down if my theory is right. Which I'm sure it is, caused I never used all the bolts to bolt down the headlight, and I always felt they were pointed up.

Caught me by surprise when I got to the car. Have you seen their new pants that come with oil stains on them already? Thought it was my kind of style since I always work on the car, so I bought them, lol. Always loved their clothing to chill in.

I agree, the car really looks sick with those works, the fatter tires, and the flares. When are you going to track it?

I'm debating about joining the night event at Texas Motorsport Speedway in the middle of August. The last one I went to, was canceled, and it was the one in California at Willow Springs! That sucked ass to drive out there for that only to get canceled two days prior. But I'm in no hurry, there's an event I can join every month. (usually two day events out here in Texas). I finally got in touch with the right people out here in Texas, so I have the ability to run every month now if I'd like, just like back in Cali.
