First Gen Audio Fitment
anyone with infinity kappa's know if they will fit in the 6.5 pos and the 6x9 in the back, without much trouble?
6.5 - Top-mount Depth 2-5/8"
6x9 - Top-mount depth 3-¼"

Could be too deep. Some speakers say they are 6.5" or 6x9s but for whatever reason they wont fit. It is always good to check. I love infinity kapps but sorry bro, i have no idea on fitment on our cars.

i haven't changed out from the OEM speakers but from all the threads I have read here you might need to create a spacer for the front speakers. since they will be deeper than the oem ones, but that isn't a problem because there is a fair amount of room in above the speaker in that little enclosure area
Stock baffles
There are stock 5 1/4 inch baffles in our front doors and if you get a good set of midbass drivers in our door the baffles act as a small enclosure. The effect... the drivers produce lively and tight bass response, imo much better than an open air 6 1/2. Put the extra cost of a 6 1/2 into a better quality 5 1/4, as always Quality > Quantity (or in this case woofer size).
do some research man, www.google.com and search for infinity or www.crutchfield.com
Theres a good chance that kappa perfect has something that will fit. Speakers however are VERY personal and can sound completely different from one person to another. Imho kappa's have always sounded overly bright to me (louder in general on the high frequencies). If your going to get a set and are looking for quality get seperates and replace those tweets in the dash. This will give you a much better front sound stage (vocals and instrumentation up front... where they are suppose to be). I've been through about 5 different seperates in my experiences and so far, would have to say that my taste likes the seperates in this order.
1. Rockford Fosgate fanatic Q
2. Orion nt2 -- new model would be the hx series i think
3. Cerwin Vega vega series
4. Infinity reference series -- older model of the perfect series
5. Kicker resolution

Get some nice 6.5" components.
2.5" mounting depth fit without modification
I've got 6.5" with 2.75" mounting depth. Just had to remove bottom of the plastic stock mounting bracket (easy to do).
Recommendations:
CDT Audio HD62
MB Quart Premium or Q series
Alpine Type X
Infinity Perfect

so y our saying the infiniti kappa perfects will fit into the stock housings? will anything need to be removed, involving sawing things off? people on here said the 5 1/4 setup would be good because of the enclosure, but will the 6.5 be that much noticeably different?
they arent garbage quality
but when it comes to the best..
go Mmats , JL audio , Rockford , Alpine.
my audio guy swears that infinity bass is good but the rest is
not all its cracked up to be
they do world class audio installments so i am just taking there

If you guys aren't in a real hurry, I'll be installing an entire audio system in my car starting Monday and will be documenting the entire procedure with pics. Afterwards, I'll post everything up on my site. I thought I'd do this since there really isn't much info or pics on audio installs for our car. I figure I could help lots of people who are looking to do the same but don't know where to start.
What I'll be doing is installing a head unit, front components, rear fill speakers, a custom built fiber board which will be attached to the back of the seat in the trunk. This will hold all my amps, distro blocks and crossovers. And of course all the wiring.
Hope this will help everyone.
