finishing the alarm problem

hi guys i just recently unplug the alarm speaker from my 2.2 because the alarm goes off too much. the only problem i got is the lights , im scared that it might drain my battery i was wondering if you disconnect any fuses or wires for it to go away.

depends shizz.... if you have the complete alarm brain where the car computer talks to the alarm computer, like a code 3 setup or something similar they are designed to be independant that way a car thief or whatever cant just bust your window and yank out a fuse and have his way with your car. and again with good alarms systems, newer models have a back up starter kill, which completley bypasses the fuses entirely and has its own memory and whatnot in the unit. but if you have an old system from late 98-99 you may be able to just cut the alarm wire and bypass through a constant hot, ie, ignition or something like that... not 100% on this stuff, havent screwed with alarms in a while, but hopefully it sheds some insight.

-- dumb question but have you turned your sensitivity all the way down? i have a code3 alarm and i have a tilt sensor mounted under my brake pedal that'll go off in case my car gets jacked up while trying to yank my wheels, and if i parked on a hill or my wheels were cut hard, it would go off... so i turned the sensitivity down about 40% and now its perfect... hope this helps bro

From: is everything.
Are we talking factory alarm or aftermarket? And if it's aftermarket, what brand / model etc.

hes gotta be talking aftermarket, our OEM alarms are garbage, only way to set them off is to open the door or pop the hood or when your daughter is playing with your keys holding down the "pretty red panic button"

he said he unplugged the speaker, and i think the oem was connected to the horn.. been a while...

I've given up with my alarm going off at random. My Mechanic showed me how to take out the fuse so that's what I'm doing for now. Too expensive to take it to the Acura mechanics. I did manager to drop a fuse into the interior but just went out and bought another. Luckily it was for my radio or I'd been busing it to Canadian Tire to get more fuses.
