F'ING Radio

My car's battery died yesterday and I jump started it today. It is running fine now, but I still plan on purchasing the optima red top battery tomorrow.

The problem: The stereo no longer works. It says error or CO something or another. If I try and put a CD in, it doesn't reject it, but it doesn't take it in either. The radio does not work.

Is it a fuse or something...wtf is wrong with it?

If the radio is without power for a certain amount of time the safety system kicks in. That happened to me. you have to get the serial number off the bottom of the radio. then caal the dealer and get the codes to punch in. unless you have them in your manual. I didn't.

take out the ashtray in the dash under the radio. mine has a small sticker with the code on it (5 digits, each digit is from 1 to 6)...enter it with the radio preset buttons

It the code is different for everybody, in wat it is and where it is. The Dealer that you got the car from or previous owner will be able to get the number. Otherwise you have to bite the bullet to check the sn numbers. Yes we all know it is gay and probably more trouble than it is worth.
