I've finally got my cross drill and slotted rotor in yesterday. My 3.0CL is a 97 and ya' know its a rotors over hub compressed together so i couldnt do it myself. Well Tuesday night....i hit this really bad pot hole on 75 north getting on 635 east...so anybody around dallas area...dont take that way...they were talking about it on the news too....when i hit it my tire busted and and i have to pull over between 2 freeway and there was lik 5 other cars with the same shit. the next day i took the car to the shop and the ramp was close with a bunch of car still there. I also broke 2 lug nut studs and the driver side axle....its driving good now tho and i have my new aftermarket rotors on.

 

sounds like a bit of bad luck, i got mine installed like a week ago and it already saved my life once. almost crashed but the brembos really stopped!!

guess when it happen, dale? during a ride....that was just fucked up! it was raining and cold outside too....between 2 fucking highway....i just chill in the car for a lil bit hoping to wake up from that bad nightmare.

Cant you get the city to pay fo the damages...i mean techanically, you pay your taxes for good roads and their roads caused you all the dammage...so cant u get the city to pay for the damage??

(one other local CL member on here got some dammage from a bump in the road, (cracked a rim in half) and the city paied for a new rim for him..)

Did you get your rotors and pads from the group buy? If so, how do you like them and how much was it to get them installed? I have a 97 3.0 also.

 

you have to go back before they fix the pothole and take pictures showing what time of day it was and where exactly it is. With proof that you hit it before they fixed it, it is the city's responsibility. I did this for 2 of my wheels which were bent. Took about a month to get a check cut for me

nah i didnt get the rotors from the group buy i got it from iRotors.com (dustbuster told me about it) i got some non dust ceramic break pads from autozone...i didnt have time to special order anything....it work pretty good. the rotors doesnt make any noise...u can feel it breaking better....my car is running great now.

and for installing it...dustbuster took his to the dealer and he said they charged him like $270..i'm called a few place and got the same thing. then i found a place where my older brother have hook up at and got it done for $60 a side and he didnt charge me for doing the axle since its all apart already.

 

I'm getting off at 3 and going to wash my car....i'll put up some pictures of the rotors.

and for the city paying me....man...there was so many people on the side of the road because of that. i have a reciept showing that i got my car done the next day...for the exact same thing everybody did.
