Finally, A Cl Body Kit...

ok, ghander gave me an idea. if everyone is seriously interested. i will make a kit. since someone mentioned on the previous post ghander started that the only thing a lot of people want is the rear bumper, then i will make them for you.

here are the details... i need $400 from everyone who wants one. i need 10 people minimum. then you guys can post your favorite rear bumper you want in this thread. at the end if their are a lot of different choices we will vote on a bumper, and then take another tally to see who wants that rear bumper.

$400, 10 people minimum, i know it is a lot for a rear bumper but it is very time consuming and expensive to make a mold for a small busniess like us. is there anyone interested or am i wasting my time.

btw, $300 (instead of $400) for the person who sends me a stock rear bumper (i need 1 of them to start).

ok, back to the origional subject............rmstioco......how bout something that matchs up to the wings west skirts and front lip............i think that would be the easiest way for most of us how want a full body kit for the least price and change....something that just matchs it and isnt toooo radical! i dont know........ill try and be more discriptive next time! tell me what you think

I am very interested. Let's all decide on a rear bumper and try and do this. I like the ww idea, stay w/ something close to that, nothing too drastic. What is our timing and when are we going to decide?

no paint. sorry, i am trying to do everyone a favor. $400 is not that much considering you pay near that much for a rear bumper with shipping anyway. and i will ship it for that price after i frigin make it from scratch... i dont think that is a bad deal!

like the others said I would like to see the bumper that got chosen before I made a commitment but I will be intrersted. That seems like a decent price.

How about a collaboration with Tim from a-tl.com. They have a 4 piece kit similar to the CL above "painted" for $829.99.
Thanks Ross for keeping new ideas coming to us 1st gens

Ross,
Count me in. I got my front lip and side skirts from you, but did not put the side skirts on, because I didn't like how it looked without a rear bumper add.
I think it would be worth the $400.00, even if you simply took the WW Accord Wagon (I like the slotted 96-97) bumper and modified it to fit, and be structurally sound. Especially if you could add some decent attachment method (strips/screws) and instructions (even if handwritten).

That was me who said that, and I think that most people get the WW front and skirts and then don't know what to do on the rear bumper...

C'mon guys, lets do this in about a month so we can make some dough.... START SAVING TODAY... no more Burger King... eat roman noodles and raid the couch cushins for extra change. Lets get this done... it will be well worth it.

Sack up and lets do it!!!

Thank you Ross for everything that you give back to this board.

he called the noodles roman... lol!.. i think he meant raman noodles tho.. heh good choice of noodle either way.. the romans used more of a ravioli like noodle.. and stuffed it with vegetables and anything they had.. they also had huge arenas where gladiators would fight eachother and then show off their roman noodle as being of their most prized possessions.. those that participated in the roman noodle stand off anyways.. most ppl just ate them.. but i believe the raman noodles he was reffering to are japanese noodles originating from the word ra-ya-mon.. and can be found for less then 50 cents a package in most convient stores and foodstores around the world.. its flavored with a powder substance, which comes in beef, chicken, and shrimp.. if you eat the powder without noodles.. it burns yer mouf.. but suprisingly.. all the noodles are the same across the flavour board.. the only thing that changes is the powder flavour package.. which makes it easy to make such varieties as shrimp and chicken noodles! or beef and chicken.. i guess you could make beef and shrimp but something does work for me with seafood and beef.. i dunno.. the actual noodle in raman noodles is made of.. noodle.. and looks similar to lo mein noodles.. .

now back to the topic at hand, the bodykit; how long do you think it would take before you could get a mold to get started (possibly a date at which you'd start selling them)? also where is berwick, if it's in cali, i'd be happy to drive around and donate myne . (if not then looks like i gotta cough up another $100 for the kit) oh yeah, r you going to do this as a one time thing, or will you offer it to anyone later on?

(ps. do you have any suggestions about a nice kit, ur's doesn't look too shabby rite now, but im pretty sure you don't want to have a buncha biters rollin' around with your kit )

I am pretty sure that the pic that was posted of the silverish CL was SpeedAuracl's pic. I expecially like that bumper. Anyone have an idea to what kind of sideskirts those are?

all the noodles and other things aside.......

rmstoico i would love to see a mass produced rear lip for the CL, ex. SpdAuraCL's car. that's just me tho, im sure some people will want bumpers.

the reason i say a rear lip is because i'd rather put urathane on my car. fiberglass casting is often less than perfect and everyone here is farmiliar with the frailty of some of the kits that are out there on the market.

don't get me wrong, i would love to see a hand-laid fiberglass kit for the CL, but being realistic, i think the urathane rear lip would be a better investment.

not bashing, just trying to contribute.

p.s. ross, i'm not doubting the quality of your fiberglass work.

Ross,

I, for one, am grateful that you're willing to take on this project.

Personally, I'm not in the market for a body kit (never have been).

However, like 1genCL, I would be much more interested in a rear lip.

Hence the reason I did not respond.

Thanks, again, for your offer.

SACK IT UP!!!!!!!!!

If you need some time to save up the money, fine. I say we do it in about a month... Ross needs that time prolly anyhow. Lets just do it for the love of god. We always bitch and moan about body kits, and here a custom one comes along. Even if you dont have the rest of the kit, get it anyway and put it in your garage until you do. You will have the only kitted out CL in your area, because it is such a custom job... do it for your car, do it for you, do it for the good of humanity. We have 6 for sures, we only need four more..... once again ..... SACK IT UP>

wow, I'm really emotional about this topic, arnt I??
