well today was my last day at pflueger acura im quitting...anywho i figure i should buy all the parts i need now so i picked up a set of headlights 144 a piece, regular is like 6-700$ for 2...i would paint it black on the lights that come with the car (when i get the CL) but theres a thing in hawaii called recon (reconstruction permit) and painted black lights would never pass...anyway my friend just got done painting them and they look so cherry! (first in hawaii to do them) no body better bite me (down here in hawaii that is) shitty part is that i have so much parts and not the car...im getting my skunk1 coilovers on monday (anyone interested in neuspeed springs for a cl?)... anywho i just wanted to know a few things about the headlights

does it make the HID's stand out less since its darker?
has anyone tried taking the reflector out on the sides? if so does it look nicer?

If you take out the side reflector it will look like crap because there is nothing there. It might look cool if you smoke it though. Oh i have heard about that thing is hawaii but you are confusing me with what you said. First it sounds like you arent doing them and then you are. Are you just going to have two sets and swap them out? oh whats the drop on the neuspeeds and price Please PM me if you get a chance

 

when u get a recon inspection its just like safety check...(aftermarket parts have to meet the requirements just like stock parts meeting the requirements for safety) ....tint darker than 35% wont pass, drop tucking tires wont pass, no alignment papers and affadavits wont pass, clears, altezzas (some do pass), CUSTOM HEADLIGHTS hehe, rims (depending on size like going from a 14 inch to a 18 inch is pushing it)...anywho my black housing headlights wont pass so i need stock ones as well then after i get the recon i put all my illegal stuff back on hehe...so that is y i bought an extra set...

now as for the headlights... u prolly were the one who started the trend...props to you...i think im the first one to have the clear reflectors on the sides painted in behind on each headlight though hehehe (looks wayyy nicer)....if im not the first my bad hehe... payce!

 

Thanks for explaining the recon thing. I heard you couldnt upsize wheels too much from someone complaining about it on the TL board, they had 19s i believe. Anyway good luck with it and post some pics of the black part of the lights you are talking about I would like to tint my corners

OH i was just kidding about the lights, everyone should do them they look great

 

my friend does really good work on lights he painted accord,civic,altezza tails, clears,ect... he even told me he could paint my headlights gunmetal chrome, yellow chrome or red chrome...anywho...all he did was pop out the corner reflectors and painted behind it...it looks really nice compared to leaving it chrome...its like those accords who have black housing projectors and they have clear corners, dosent match unless it has black housing corners as well... try it on ur cl though i think it looks better

 

Hmm i might have to do that, i have an extra housing so i could try it and if i dont like it who cares. Will the corner bulbs shine well though, although both of my superbright leds are out so i dont have any corner bulbs but...

 

trust me youll like it better than leaving it white... and about how much it shines...i have no clue seeing as how i dont even have a CL...im saving up to buy one thats y...
