Feel a little abnormal jerk when gear changes? Please Help

I bought a used: 1997 Acura 2.2Cl, AUTO, 74K, Vtec. When i push the gas pedal from a still position and the RPM reach 3. I feel an abnormal jerk and the RPM fall down to 2. I assume it's changing the gear. However, the car jerks as if like a hickup. I Don't know what's causing this to do so strongly. Has anyone experience this in the past.

Help Please.

yea i think it's a bad tranny. Acura Legends were known for their shitty transmission, but i thought that they made the tranny better when the cl, tl , and the rl came out.

Don't believe the hype. You guys with autos should be prayin for your trannies every day. Me, with the stick, have 142k and no probs on my tranny

Blacura1999,
Did you have it checked out? I had a mechanic drive it and he said there is nothing wrong with the transmission for sure, but he said need to get it hooked up with a computer to find out what exactly is causing it. He also said it should be a major problem.

sylthecru,
How is the new tranny working out for you? Was yours also doing worst when it changes to 2nd gear?

im getting my car back this saturday. so ill post a reply when i get it back.

my car would do a double jerk when it shifted into third. it felt like someone driving a stick and double pumped the clutch while up shifting. i was told that my tranny filter was clogged up so the tranny basically fried.

I am getting mine looked at by the dealer this Friday. Hopefully, a tranny flush will do something. I wish we could all do a group buy on trannys for like $700 or something.

my tranny feels like it is slipping on when it is cold out and I just start driving it but once it worms up it is fine. also i've been told by a mechanic that my transmission shifts hard because I drive my car hard. The person that had your car before could have drove the shit out of it. The mechanic said that it seems like automatics have a little brian and if you drive your car hard for a while it will shift hard and if you baby your car for a while the tranny will shift smooth. try that............

hey blacura i had my iac go bad and it was causing the car to constantly give gas. causing the tranny to feel like it was banging in to gear. at the same time at idle with the car in park or neutral it would surge up and down. like i was pushing the gas pedal down and releasing it. however at first it would only do it when i was in drive, making the tranny slam in to 2 and 1st, as if i were holding the brake at the same time as the gas. i replaced the iac and no more problems. btw i got 103k miles on my tranny.
