Fcc Id
Ok, I already Used the "search" and I couldn't find it, so please just answer teh question:
I bought my CL w/o/ any remote, and I'm tired of not having one. No way in hell i'm going to pay 80 for the entry, and 80 more to get it reprogramed...
So, i know i need to find my FCC number, but where do I find it on my car? (to see if it will match the E-bay clicker i'm looking at?)
I dont have the manual either...so wehre do i look?
Thx
Dave

no, it doesn't tell you where teh FCC number is that is assigned to your car.... but i'm starting to think it may not matter... if my carr had its very own FCC number...where would it be?

I'm not 100 percent positive on this, but fcc numbers only apply to things that transmit. Such as remotes, cell phones, 2 way radios....Since the car itself only receives, why would it have an fcc number?

that post had info regarding the fcc number, most said it was on the back of the unit.. maybe you could ask the dealer your question?

The FCC number is on the back of the remote. I would tell you but I don't have it on me. Once you know the FCC number, then you can buy one on eBay for cheap and program it with the instructions Hobo found for you. Somebody should be able to tell you on here.

your gonna have to call the dealer and get the info on your car and what is the right remote to get for your car. the FCC # is on the remote. you don't have one. that's like your only option at this point.

to my knowledge there is pretty much on FCC number for our generation of CL. It is A269ZUA108 and I am pretty sure that is for most 1st gens. I can tell you for sure though that the 2nd gen remote will not work. I got one for the better styling and I could not program it to the car. So I just swapped the guts out. So long story short, go on ebay find one that has this FCC number and follow the programing instructions.
