Fabricating parts for CL

someone needs to start fabricating parts for the 1st Gens...
im currently looking for people around town who are willing to do some fabricating for our cars. There are no promises of this ever happening. But if i can somehow find someone, i'll let you guys know...
but so far.. i need some ideas of stuff to fab..
im thinking of Taillights (red/white) / CF 3.0 engine pieces... i garantee you these mods arent going to be cheap if it will even happen.
i just wanna know who would be up for it..
and also what other ideas do you guys have for fabricating.
PS. not going to fab. front lips since a lot of people on forum have ww alrealdy , maybe back lips though.

I agree that the carbon fiber engine pieces are useless. Carbon fiber is used to save weight AND to add strength. It will do neither covering an engine. Also IMO carbon fiber is ugly unless done right and put in the right places.

How about an H-brace for under the car...a cam...a turbo kit for $2500 for everything.

i was just clarifying for the folks that dont know what he meant.

i guess our lights would be the opposite of the 03 cls. the clear part would be on the bottom, im assuming. i guess they could be fabrikated with the clear on top.

I think what he meant was that they'd look ricey on our cars, if for no other reason than that we spent alot of money on fabricating direct replacement tail lenses to look like a different car's.

That doesn't make them ricey, how stupid.

I don't think it will look good though. The design of the talights would not look right split horizontaly.

yea what i meant was make the taillights like the 03 CL's New audi's etc......
its not ricey at all!! i think it looks pretty clean.. i remember a while back.. i think last summer. there was a post about changing the lights to white and red.. and some one did a good photoshop of it..
i think it looks better the top half white.. maybe.
as for the CF engine pieces ... i was thinking of just using that for shows or what not.. but i guess CF engine pieces are a lil too pricey for such insignificant mod.. but then again the CF trend is in.. and people get CF everything... litterally

How about:
- Projector headlights with black housings
- Eyelids for the headlights
- CF hoods
- Black housings on clear bumper lights
- Redesigned front grill
- 5 or 6 speed trannys for teh 3.0 guys.

How bout instead of useless C/F engine covers, which I might be intereseted in, but is a waste. How about you find someone to mold a batch of C/F hoods? If they're close to you, they could borrow your hood to make a mold! Now that's something that people on here would like fab'd for their cl's

Can you do the lights white on top? My 90' Teg had the white on top red on bottom, I loved the back of that car. Sorry, no pics at the moment.

A non-factory looking grill. i.e. a custom grill. Comprende?

In addition to the fabrikations I mentioned above, how about CF
or aluminum trim for the interior. That'll be hot.

well i just phoned a couple of places... but im just getting started.
i found out that the red and white taillight mod can certainly be done!
except that its goin to cost a A LOT!! theres a process called vacuum forming... where they can shape plastic by making plastic molds.. and they can make any color.. so far my quote was roughly 3 thousand dollars to make 2 pairs of custom tail lights .... haha i asked around for eyelids... they said it was very possible..shouldnt be a problem.

I hope that's a typo because if not and there's no way I'm paying over
$250.00 for both. Actually I wouldn't even get the tailights for my CL, I'm getting the black film that rockblocker is making for our tailights.
It's going to look sick on my black CL.

You should definately push for the eyelids and the others mods I mentioned on pg. 1.

$3000 for some tailights is outrageous.

i was thinking 1000 for 2 pairs i would do it.. anything that has to make a mold of... its not worth it just buying 1 or 2... its usually like mass produced products.

c/f hood also requires a mold, but I bet you'd get a better response for those if you could find somewhere to mold. Then these foo's could start saving

For $3000 you should get alot more than 2 pairs. If I had the $$$ to throw into replacement tailights, I would say $500/pair is fair.

i use to do vacuum molding with plastic in high school. there is no way that the chemicals and materials needed, and the labor involved would be 3000 dollars. if i had a spare set of tail lights and about 100 bucks i could do it easily.

No offense but that looks like shit. Maybe if the clear had a red border around it and was more less a rectangle inside the taillight instead of the split look.

perhaps if the clear had been going horizontally, it would look nice.
