Ever do this? Trying to save the speed of your car...

Call me crazy but sometimes I do not beat in my car because I try to "save" it for a later day. I know other people have had this thought before. I do not think about it all the time when I'm driving but sometimes I think that if I rip my car it is getting slower and slower. I know its probably minimal, but I think it adds up. Anybody else ever think about this? Maybe I had too many beers tonight?

For the record I was not even driving last night. Also, do you guys think that a car with 20,000 miles is any faster in all gears then the same car with 60,000 miles? I'd have to say the car with less miles would be faster. I know it depends on the driver and how much they beat on the car, but that is sortive what I was getting at with my drunkin ramble last night.

There are some cars that get faster/perform better once they have around 30k. I forget which cars exactly, but I know Porsche had one. It was one of the 911 models. And I think the S2K and the Type R Teg was another two.

id say the bearings would b nice and broken in ........ as long as the car is well cared for, it shouldn't matter how many miles are on it.

a supra with 180k auto ran 13.6 1/4 (which is the stock time of a new one)

so maybe its just the CL that has that feeling.

Generally it's the opposite when referring to the motor. It tends to pick up a few ponies at it settles in. Of course, that's with proper mantainence. A $300K Ferrari is gonna get slower and slower and probably end up with a blown motor if you forget to have the timing adjusted every 8000 miles.

However, the motor is like 10% of the picture. What about that tranny you've beat to shit with the burnt clutch and half axles that are ready to strip, etc. So many factors it's impossible to say.
