engine/oil problem...help!

been gone fo a while... tried searchin....here goes...
2.2 auto
car started tp run slow..then i got CEL...insufficient egr flow.. and when i went to clean it\check it out.. i notcied that a plug was full of oil...the plug is connected to the distributor...

the top side of the plug comes from the vtec sensor and the bottom goes to the side of the engine....

i cleaned the egr and cleaned all of oil form the plug. reset the ecu and it ran perfect.. then the plug filled up with oil again...then i got the same CEL.

when the plug fills with oil it i get the CEL...soo im stuck

So there is a seal leaking oil into a space were it shouldn't be. You said the plug is connected to the distributor and the side of the engine. It sounds as though the distributor oil seal is bad, or the PCV valve is malfunctioning and allowing oil in to the connection port. Not too sure as to what this connection is, but can you take a picture of it?

Distributor O-ring failure is my guess. But you are not clear as to which end is filling with oil.

if the distributor was full of oil his car wouldnt run at all. The rotor wouldnt power the wires.

When you say plug. Are you talking a spark plug? If so your seal under the valve cover is worn and the oil is dripping on the spark plug.

plug seals? yeah, I guess, but he said there was no oil on the spark plugs. And he was talking about the egr valve. I wonder if that was an asymptomatic event. Or if the plug filling with oil had a relation to it. Some how, I don't think they are related, leading back to the pcv valve.

the plug is connected to the distributor...

the top side of the plug comes from the vtec sensor and the bottom goes to the side of the engine....

i
not actually connected to it....the distributor housing has a metal brace\arm to hold two different plugs

the oil is not coming from the distributor at all.... i the top of the plug comes from the vtec sensor... and the other side taps into the side of the engine...
i cant figure out if the oil coming from the vtec sensor or the engine. or if its cause of the egr....
sorry for the confusion

EGR has no connection whatso ever with oil
VTEC yes. Look for the seal. Shouldnt be too hard to find the leak.

yeah i know...when the plug fills up with oil..the CEL for egr flow comes on...

The EGR has no oil in it...it fails because of the oil in the plug...

i just need to know what part it is....its either the vtec sensor...or the one that taps into the passenger side of the engine.....

ill get a picture.....

The first one is vtec control which connectes to the selenoid and the second one is the temp sensor which reads coolant temp and displays it on the dash.
Mow whats being filled with oil?
I dont see how the vtec connector would fill with oil. All it is is a plug which connects electrical wires.

might be the vtec control thats leaking.....but why does it give me the CEL "EGR insuffcient flow"

ed: the colant temp sensor is covered in oil...but its probably from the vtec control..oil runs down to it...

thanks for helping me...

well concentrate on one problem at a time
your vtec selenoid seal might be leaking
once your vtec kicks in its probably spraying and weting the connector
thats my theory
the connector has got nothing to do with oil
its simply electrical
its not possitioned in a place where oil might be leaking be leaking into it
thats why i think its spraying
make sure your vtec seal is good
dry it off with a towel and drive the car around the block
you should see where the oil is coming from

i think its going through the wire....if you can see..there are two colors of paper white/blue..i tied them to find the source, if the oil is running down the wire.....the paper is oil free...so it must be going through it......and about the spraying...i was thinking that too...there is no oil anywhere else....engine bay is clean....

guess i need a new vtec conrtoller/ silenoid... any one help with the price....
