Engine light after OBX ss headers ?
Hello, i just installled some OBX ss headers and after the instalation i noticed a funny smell like hot metal and my engine light went on. The sensor was " jolted a little bit from be trying to get that old crap off my car but it was intact and in good looking condition. Why is the sensor on ? is that normal for my car to "hiss" when i jump on it. not the sound from the intake hiss but like a Quiishhhhhhh after me and a freind did some inspection we found there to be no visable leaks of exhaust. I drove her with the engine light on and noticed that in 2nd i dig my tires hard with a Screach and in the transition to 3rd is more fluid but it seems to take longer to rev ? HELP

for sure. it's the O2.....no doubt there. Most headers that are made for our cars have 2 holes for o2 sensors but the old school cl has only one....it has to be modified to fit most headers. It's prob dirty too...

ok I read your profile... you have a 2.2...
yeah same thing happened to me... you need to check if you tightened your 02 sensor enough and reconnected the harness down there... also the hiss is probably an exhaust leak that could also be triggering your check engine light. you need to warm up the car and retighten all the nuts.
make sure the all nuts are torqued correctly and then make sure u screw in the plug on the top part of the header so that there is no exhaust leak there. I have same header on my 2.3.
after checking all of that. reset the ecu again.

i did all that the engine lights off the lower part of the headers are tightend but im not sure if that part that goes to the car is COMPLETLY seealed because i can see the seal gasket ( off the old pipes ) and theres about 1/4 inch of it in the middle. should i just take her to a exhuast shop and have her inspected ? Also, one of the top middle header posts twisted off ( theres no leak whatsoever ) but its making me anal so do i have to take the dam headers off again, cut a slit in the post unscrew the post and buy a new one were do i get that dam post.
