Good suggestion. I did some more research and I think I will just get the Chrome emblems and paint them gold. Later in life the emblems will be 24k gold again :P

honestly it's gonna be tough to find gold platers that'll plate for real cheap...and usually you get what you pay for. there are exceptions, but typically you're gonna have to pay to play

I honestly wouldn't mess with anything that cheap, as gold (even expensive chrome plating found on jline rims) has the tendency to fade QUICKLY, to a faint piss yellow after awhile.

I'd say save up and do it the right way, with a good warranty. I'm really not sure how gold trim would look around the windows, but hey, be a pioneer! As you can tell (from the previous poster) I'm a sucker for gold on black...I think it has potential. Hell, if I come into extra money, I'm thinking about painting the spokes of my rims black and getting chrome gold plate on the lips and the rivets.

Be different!

Awesome advice, thanks. From the gecko I have been wanting to do it the right way, I don't know why I strayed from that. The reason why I am going through so much to keep the gold cuz my car is known in my area because of the gold. there are a bunch of other CLs but none have the gold. I've gotta keep my rep up :P
Thanks again

haha yeah I know what you mean. I used to be in the 'anti-gold' crowd until I inherited the cl and thought...'hey, might as well use what I got'...and it definitely does stand out if done correctly.

best of luck and keep me updated!
