Dose anyone know where I can get some Gold Tone Emblems and not the $100 Gold (24k) Emblems? ebay got nothing. I was also looking for gold trim (around window) and grill.

Because I want everything you see on the car that is silver to be GOLD! Gold trim all the way round! Luxurious baby! With a dark as leagaly possible tint to go with it. I do find gold emblem kits but their 24k gold $200! Can I, dare I ask, paint em?
you can paint them - but it will 99% probably look like crap. honesty if you are going to go the gold trim with real black tint look I think you pretty much need to have a black car
maybe find some gold trim film? I know you can get blackout film for trim, not sure on other colors.

Just use a good gold metallic and it shouldn't wash off

/\ wow thats nice isn't it.
I think if u paint it correctly like others said, it should turn out good. I personally think gold looks bad. the chrome is much more luxurious. idk gold isn't my thing.

damn......... cruel and straight to the point arent you...... but I must admit, I was thinking the same thing
and besides wasnt there a gold emblem option kit for our car from Acura...... im sure theres still some OLD stock lying around at a dealer somewhere for DIRT CHEAP........ and as for the gold door trim..... I dunno about that, definately gonna have to be a custom thing done on your own, but me personally id leave it silver, too much trouble for nothing...... gold trim doesnt make luxury or make it any more luxurious BTW, its just decoration nothing more
It's your car, you do what you want to it. I don't think a lot of people will think the gold door trim will look good. In my opinion, if you want to do gold this is the only way to do it: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192277
That's a '97 stock gold package. My car came with gold emblems, but I debadged the rear end minus the A emblem, which is now painted black. Then I got a '97 grill that was in bad shape, sanded it and painted it as show above.
In the end though, it's your car, and we can't tell you what you can and cannot do to it - do what works for you.

omg... I ask a simple question where I could get gold tone emblems or if paint will work and I get some of the most random, dumbass posts I've ever seen on any forum. I don't want my entire car to be gold(obviously everything gold was a joke...) I don't care what you think it will look like, and obviously I know it is my car and I know exactly what I want to do with it.
As for the people that actually answered my question, thank you.

im not trying to down on you, altough i may have been a little sarcastic, i just think all the gold trim would just be in really bad taste. if its what you want to do, go ahead, i just think everyone will laugh at you.

I went to the local Acura dealership and they did not have any more kits. Should I buy the chrome emblems and a gold kit for $200 or paint it? When you repainted your grill, did you have to take it off? And as for the emblems on the back, it is ok to paint chrome?? My car is so sad sometimes

wow I forgot how defensive ninja used to get cuz of a little n00b hazing
LoveMyBaby97 don't buy the kit, that's retarded. You can get the gold emblems on ebay for pretty cheap, or just do it yourself, we're all about diy on this forum. Never spend $200 on emblems

At least I'm alot less of a n00b than then tho.
And I could drive!
Haha, I reconized the thread title and was shocked to see it bumped up again. This was one of my first threads!
But back to the gold emblems, Cheap ones are very hard to come buy because most of them are 24K gold plated. I think there are a few 'gold tone' embems which look the same but are gold paint; good luck finding those!
call around to a couple dealerships. our local toyota delaership has a guy that gold plates name plates and emblems for cars that we work on. He only charges us like 30 bucks to plate one.
