Eibach/KYB install
Eibach/KYB install
I just got my Eibach's and KYB's "installed" yesterday. I think the guy did a hack job because at first he didn't put the bump stops back on the front and then later put them back on when he found that the bolts stuck out too far under the hood.
He hasn't even put the bump stops on the back. He says I don't need them. Am I getting jerked around? Didn't anybody else with a 3.0 CL have a problem getting the front ones installed without a problem? He also had to add an extra bushing to keep the front ones from popping out of the shock tower.
Help!

This doesn't sound right...
I thought that the reason for the bump stop was to keep the strut from bottoming out. I would think that you wouldn't want that to happen or the strut might blow out. My threads stick out higher in front, but no bushing or bump stop is going to affect that if the strut is put together correctly. You might want to find a friend who know cars and have them check it out.

If I was you I would try to get a hold of the owner, or if it is a chain find the regional manager or something. They are the ones who really care about the sevice you get. I bet you will get some sort of special treatment if you complain.
Your rear shocks will blow! Guaranteed! It's just a matter of when!
You got jerked around! I've not heard of "add an extra bushing to keep the front ones from popping out of the shock tower."
The install is pretty easy, and a shop should know what the hell they are doing. Time to go to the manager (like Woodsdaddy said).
Avoid big bumps until you get those bump stops back in. 3 of my 4 stock shocks blew within days because I trimmed the bump stops too short. I can imagine what will happen with NO bump stops in place! :'(
