okay so while your driving yank on the e-brake handle really hard a few times then lock your brakes up then yanks a few more times and itll loosen them up, that happened to me, its from your cra sitting w/the brake on for a while, the brake eventually locks up.

It is possible that the cable has become stretched or the retainer has loosened. Try Bkmc24's plan if you like, but I think you should examine the mechanisms first before yanking the break and slamming them on. Not sure how safe or reliable that advice really is. Sorry Bk, I just think that is a little rash.

while driving yank the ebrake like 3 times, then lock up your regular brakes then immediately after, yank the ebrake a few more times, that should work and if not just keep repeating.

WTF, take the wheel off and physicaly examine the caliper. If you can, take a small rubber malot and a large flat screwdriver and tap the caliper. You may want to spray some brake cleaner into the mechanics of the caliper to loosen it.

I am sorry, there is no way I would drive, yanking my e-brake, and slamming on the brakes. They want you to wreck your rotors so you can come to the dealership and put on new brake parts. Fuck, that is the craziest shit I've heard. But, If you want to rape your tires and warp your rotors... By all means have at it.

Just my two pennies and common sense talking here.

call acura(^^^) and ask any of the techs there what to do if your brake is locked up, hell ask for tom cole and ask him, thats what they will ALL tell you to do. and yes the mallot and screw driver works sometimes but then other times they dont.

I can't say I always trust Acura to do the best thing... When my transmission was slipping and shifting iraticly, they said "flush it." It failed less than a week later. The last time I went to the dealer for an oil change special... The next day, I had oil on my garage floor. I took it to my bro's shop... Low and behold the Acura service tech put a vinal crush washer on, and over-tourqued the plug, cracking the crush washer and causing it to leak... So pardon me if I don't trust everything Acura techs say to do. As I said, by all means do what you want to fix your brakes... They are yours. By the by, have you ever heard the old contractor's quote? "I can't see it from my front porch..." Loose translation... "It aint my car, what do I care if my advice costs that customer a little extra cash, he's coming back anyway..."

Yes sir it is... I'm just very reserved about my car and who works on it anymore... Not to be steppin on your toes man. I just hate to see anyone get owned by a dealership. Anyway, if you know them personaly, then take what they say at face value. I would too, if my bro said do that, I might look at him oddly, but I would do it.

Peace out, and I hope your brakes get unstuck. Good luck.

i dunno but yanking on your e-brake a few times and braking isn't going to fix your problem plus while your driving?. dunno but i know our cars cant drift for shit! theres a way to adjust the cable line under the center arm concel. i know if you have rear drums you can also adjust from there. on a rear disc?. if not, you might want to recall yourself when was the last time you canged your rear brake pads?. it could be that.

take the middle console apart and you can adjust the ebrake there.

dead serious, ive done it about three diff times on my car before i got new brakes and shit cuz they were being gay, and it worked EVERY time, but thats only when your brakes are locked up, if his lever is just loose, then yes adjust it, thatd be common sence. just sharing from experience.

did it work? my solution was for stuck rear brakes, i got tons of room on my ebrake handle cuz they stuck, if yours inst alot then thats what you should do but if it goes half way up, its def a stuck brake, and if your skeptical about that, jack up the rear and try to spin the tires, if they spin easily, then tighten it.

Rear is a disc/drum combo

If you guys are talking about the CL, the rear is a disc/drum combo type, if you take the disc rotor off, it will expose the drum brake pads and mechnism inside, I just changed all four rotors myself so I know that for a fact, adjusting the tightness is from underneath your arm rest behind your e-brake handle, you should see some cables there with nuts on them to adjust, that's the easier way if it's slightly loose, further adjustment would be to through the rear rotor, that part I am not sure yet........... As for what you said about "our cars can't drift for shit!" can't agree with you more, tried it many times and were only about to drift a little bit and it was not smooth, even had the mechanic micro adjust it to try to get it to lock the wheels at will, he can't do it either, so I gave up. Why fuck up my ebrakes trying something that can't be done? Even if the brakes lock it usually locks too late so the drift looks like you lost control.... Of course, if anyone out there knows how to drift this car at well, PLEASE SHARE!!!!!!! I would love to know.......... I love this car, but I miss my rear wheel drive Supra. It can power drift easily, unfortunately, the last drift it did was not intentional and I ended up hitting the freeway exit guardrail, flew in the air, landed on the side totaled........

why drift a CL they arent even powerful enough for that. Plus its FWD so like its really hard to drift, maybe when it snows lol. Pulling the ebrake is out of control, especially if you think you can drift that way. Drifting and pulling the ebrake are completely different. I guess what im trying to say is you need a RWD car with a decent amount of power to drift. Everyone should stop pulling the ebrake unless you have 5 inches of snow on the ground.

ok my e-brake was fine for a lil bit until it started acting up again...i tightened the cables and now the brakes keep getting stuck! i even drove with the e-brake on not knowing until i smelt a nasty stench and saw that my rotors were glowing red from the friction!!! it is only the left rear brake that is sticking..everytime i have to drive i have to beat the calipers with a hammer do get it loose....how do i get the brakes unstuck?? do i grease something up?? i even tried the crazy idea of pumping the ebrake while driving but it didnt work....thanks again

hmmm, idk then, do you leave your ebrake on while you park? cuz thats what fucked mine up, they got stuck after a while of sitting so start leaving it in 1st gear instead of ebrake
