Double Din Pioneer Avic D2

I am thinking of getting a Pioneer Avic D2 navi. What do i need to install it? Can anyone tell me if there is anyway to secure it when i install it so its not easily stolen? Also to ground the wire when you do the bypass hack, do u just put the wire to a metal surface? Thanks in advanced. And if anyone have a picture of it installed in a first gen cl please post. thank you

the d2 cannot be bypassed by simply grounding the ebrake wire. a simple google search can reveal how to do it, its a bit more complicated. Also, it doesnt play DVDS, just FYI

What exactly holds in the navi? I am asking because on my old car my deck got stolen. I want it to be as hard as can be to be taken out. It was very easy to pull out the deck on my old car.

you can try bolting it to your stock harness, which bolts to your frame via two screws/bolts. you can see them if you pull out your ashtray.

I took mine to a shop to get it trimed and mounted so I cant really say what they did

i was talking about the mounting. bypass yes is easy to figure out. go to best buy and get a honda dash kit. honk-828 is the model number. once you get that you will have to cut out the pocket with a dremel tool and size it to your d2. then once you are done with that there are screw holes on top of your d2. secure them to your dash kit. ill take pick of everything you need and email them to you on monday. thats the next day i work. where do you live by the way?

If you last unit was jacked by someone breaking a roll down window, go to a tint shop and tell them you a clear 4-mill secuirty film installed on the 2 roll down windows. I do this all the time for the GBI on every window on all there cars.

I read on another forum that if you do the hack that will allow you to operate the navi while driving, you are not suppose to hook up the speed sensor. Is that true? or can anyone confirm this?

that is not what I heard about bypassing the navi. If you dont hook up the speed sensor, the navi wont work correctly. It has something to do with soldering a piece of metal between two connections on the under/back side of the unit or something.
