does HID require new wire or any additionalss??

Hi,

My Eaglite Kit arrived and I'm just about to put them on.
One question though, do I need to put in new wire to the battery or the stock wire will be enough to handle them?

Plus, any additional items I need other than what the kit comes with (HID bulbs, ballast)??

Thanks alot

well, if I remember correctly, you got the 9006 kit... everything you need should be in the box. They go in just like the origional bulbs came out... and the balasts plug directly into the factory wirring. You will NOT need any new wirring... the HID's draw much less current than your factory bulbs... so you are all set there. The only thing thats a toughie, is mounting the balast on the passenger side... theres not much room there, but i'm sure you'll squeeze it in there somewhere. Just make sure you dont let the cables rub on anything... and just be careful... they do operate at a very high voltage... and although they 'should' be safe... dont test your luck... I have not been shocked yet... but I just dont want to see you get hurt... so keep them off when your putting them in. Oh yeah, and dont touch the glass as with halogen bulbs.

Thanks alot

In the installation menu, it recommend me to change the fuse of the low beam to at least 20Amp.
Did you change that?

Also, can you give me a rough idea (pics will be better) as to where you mount yours?
as you had it for a while without problem.

Thanks again.

opps... I should have checked the menu first. The fuse for the low beam is already 20Amp.

It would be great if you can let me know where about to install the ballast.

Thanks

I mounted the left balast under the airbox, theres plenty of room under there. On the right side it is mounted to the inside fender between the abs motor and the fender... it was kinda tough with my new ones cause the cable from the balast to the socket is shorter than my philips kit had. I am not sure about yours, but the cable is probably longer, so your mounting options maybe less limited. If I had a camera i'd take some pics... but I waste my money on other things, like my gf...

SumkidwithaCL: Does your HID flick a little when you turn it on?
Coz, mine flick once everytime I turn it on and then, it light up.

Is this normal?

Thanks

They turn on instantly, so this may be the flicker... they do also take a little time to warm up completly, especially when its cold out. My guess is that its probably normal... each kit is different, so its hard to say...

**scratches head** My beams look the same as yours... the left side isnt as bright as the right... I swapped bulbs from side to side as well, and it didnt change... I wonder why they are like that. Also... You may notice it takes a little tweaking to get them just right... but keep a philips screwdriver with you and make adjustments as you go to see how you like them... I finally got mine adjusted to my liking.
