It will be loud as fuck and your check engine will come on because of the O2 sensors, but other than that, I dont think it hurts anything. You might want to at least bolt it on even if it doesnt line up, the header itself will make it a lot quieter.

i think i need to be more specific. the pieces that come off of the engine block (that replace the ex manifold) will be connected, but the part that connects those to the catalytic will be off. my father was sayin it might fuck up the exhaust valves for some reason, he said he thinks it has to do with cold air being sucked in because of no back pressure or somethin?

You should be fine, and its only 3 miles. The engine isnt pulling in air on the exhaust stroke. A lot of people with turbo cars run open downpipe, Ive never heard of any problems with that. I drove for over an hour with mine open and its fine.

its really loud and becareful that u keep ur windows open or something because the Carbon Monoxide seeps into the cabin... so u don't want to get affixiate or something like that... other than that it will smell pretty bad. Dont get pulled over either.

well shit, with all those exhaust gases just shooting right into the engine bay, that can't be good to do for long. If your engine is running rich then there sill be gas spraying under the hood and if it get's too hot under there... BOOM!!!!

Your o2 check engine light goes on when the gases passing through the cat are not clean. Therefore if you arent sending any gases at all, it should be impossible to get a cel from it.

It would be nice to try for a few hours or so just dont leave it off permanently. Yes there will be less restrictions on the expulsion of exhaust by not having any diameter restrictions = more hp, but can you imagine the heat increase in your engine bay!!! Especially if you have a short ram you will take the chance of sucking all your exhaust fumes right back into your engine at every stop light which = very bad

You'll be just fine for a short trip. Just for the hell of it i ran open headers around for 15 minutes when installing my DC Sports 4-2-1 Header just to see how loud it would be.

open header

when you say open header, you mean nothing on at all from the motor? If so, it will definitely damage your pistons, it will put a dent on most of them and cause your motor to knock. Take it from someone who has experienced it for himself and seen a whole mess of people do it to their cars.....I used to work for a Goodyear repair shop that did everything. I suggest just getting it towed rather than risking major repairs. It's always better to do it the right time the first time.
